We bought a box of the new Hostess Muffin Stix and when my son bit into one of them he started choking on a piece of plastic. I contacted Hostess and they sent me a label asking me to return the unused portion and the piece of plastic that was inside one of them. Which I did. I asked them to be compensated for my time doing this, the scare we got from my son choking and the price I paid for the muffins. They never reply or say anything to me. I have photos and things I can show you that I took of the plastic.

Bought a box of Hostess Ding Dongs 10 ct box on 10/13/2022, expiration date is Nov. 9. 2022 box code is ************* 11:35, my husband and I both are on on the 14th tasted fine, then last night my husband opened one and ate a bite and said that taste funny, and he smelled it and said it smells like chemicals, so I got the box and opened 4 more cakes 3 smelled like chemicals, 1 did not. I do still have the opened and unopended remaining cakes. I called Hostess at their number on the box and reported it, they said they would send me some coupons, I said I'd rather know what kind of chemicals my husband ate, they said they would have a supervisor call me. As of yet no call. I just don't understand how a food grade item could get packaged up and be sent out of the factory, first of all why would any chemical be any where near snack cakes let alone make them taste like chemicals. I just don't understand, this wasn't a light smell, or a expired product it smelled like acetone or paint thinner.

October 17, 2022, alleging that a certain 10-count box of Hostess® Ding Dongs® (with a best by date of
November 9, 2022 and a lot code of ************* 11:35) had a chemical smell. Upon receipt of the
complaint, Hostess immediately initiated an ongoing investigation into the alleged issue.

As part of its investigation, Hostess contacted the consumer on October 19, 2022, as the consumer
