On 9/9/21 I was in the drive thru at McDonald's **********************. I ordered a coffee. When the employee handed it to me the lid was not on completely and the coffee spilled all over my hand and lap. The employee apologized and handed me napkins. My hand instantly turned reddish purple looking. I went to the emergency room at ********************************. I filed a complaint and have been following up with *************** claims dept. McDonald's excepted liability for the incident after I sent them pictures of my hand, the receipt, and they watched the video. They have not paid the medical bill from the ER visit or the visit to my neurologist. My bills have been sent to the collection agency.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/02) */ On September 9, 2021 Customer Becky **** came into the McDonald's ********************************** at 5:15pm to file an incident report. Becky spoke with the General Manager and said that when she got her coffee handed to her in the drive-thru at 10:20am that morning that the lid was not on correctly and coffee spilled on her left hand. At the time of the coffee spill, Becky did not speak with a manager about it. Since the incident involved an alleged customer injury, the General Manager completed a McDonald's Claim Report for Customer Injury and notified our insurance carrier, ***************. We supplied information to *************** Insurance so the claim could be reviewed by them. Any decisions regarding the claim would have been made by *************** Insurance. The General Manager followed our procedures by filing the claim with our insurance carrier.
