Q and Q construction built a room addition and covered deck on the back of my house. The dates of the construction was from December 2021-January 2022. I had a roof leak in two places which was in the addition and on the deck before the construction was complete. I called two different times in a 10 day span to tell ***** ****** about the two places which was leaking majorly. ***** came the first time and said he fixed it. With in 10 days of another rain the leak was still there and even worse. I called him and for the second time coming over and said he had fixed it. Again the leak was still there. I had to call another contractor to come and reconstruct the two areas that was supposed to be fixed by ***** ******. Even after the completion and two different attempts to come and fix the leaks. I had to pay a another contractor to fix the problem right. I am wanting reimbursement for the money I am out to get it fixed right. I will attached a copy of the invoice that I had to pay to get it fixed right and stop the leak. The amount of $1,533.26 need to be given back to me for the mess he made on my roof and addition.Business response

I am responding to the complaint that was submitted 3/18/22 and was assigned ID ********
I did build a room addition and covered deck for the complainant. At the time she stated there were two (2) leaks on the roof. I went over and worked on the roof to fix the leaks. She said one of the leaks was still leaking. I responded to her that I would fix it. In the meantime she hired someone to hang gutters for her, they told her the roof was a mess. She absolutely took his word and decided that I didn’t know what I was doing. She texted me and said “don’t call me I’m so mad right now” so I didn’t call her but I texted her several times and told her each time that I would fix her roof. Instead she hired someone else to fix her roof. He did the same thing I would have done had she given me the opportunity to do so before hiring someone else. Then she wanted me to pay the $1,533.26 he charged her, which is way too much money. Had she allowed me to fix it, it wouldn’t have cost anything. Unfortunately the complainant took someone else’s word without giving me opportunity to come fix her roof and it cost her unnecessarily. I do not feel I am responsible for this since the complainant told me not to call her then hired someone else. I would have gladly fixed her roof as I have worked for her many times over the years. I believed us to have open communication and a good work relationship but clearly I was mistaken.
