Invoice # ***** Invoice Date 11/09/2023 Claim # *********** I hired Dynamic Restoration to replace my roof. After the work was finished there was material left over. A bundle of roofing that was never opened which cost around 255.00. I didn’t think anything about the other left over material that was taking. I felt like 255.00 was a little much to be taking to use on other jobs. I was home the day the material was delivered and It was the same amount which my insurance had paid for. I told the representative ***** that I was subtracting the amount for the bundle of roofing. He informed me that the extra material belong to the Business. After receiving calls, messages and letter from ****** *****. Telling me the company always orders extra materials for all jobs. Then threatening to have a lien placed on my property and giving me 15 days to make the payment of 252.15 it would be turned over to collection and or an attorney. This company ordered extra materials of all materials used on a job. A friend of my had an estimate for gutters from Dynamic Restoration. When my friend ask why the extra feet of material the employee informed him they always order 10% extra material. As much as materials are at this time it’s wrong to take advantage of customers like this. My home is not quite 1,000 Sf roof replacement was 6,266.98.Business response

Dear *** ****** -
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. I will make you aware, however, that this complaint has been filed under the wrong company. This is our sister company of which is not at all involved in your complaint and should be erased from Dynamic Restoration NE LLC please.
I will, however, go ahead and reply to your concerns since I am also an owner with Dynamic Restoration LLC and have access to your file with Dynamic Restoration LLC in Kentucky.
(Again - This complaint in no way is related at all to the separate company Dynamic Restoration NE LLC in Connecticut)
**************************************************************************************
In regards to your complaint with Dynamic Restoration LLC:
Please note that you signed a contract on 8/17/23 to have your project completed according to the insurance scope of work. We do not break down the charge by the materials and labor individually. We charge by the project and by the contracted amount. The contract amount is the amount insurance stated it costs to replace the damage.
To further clarify - The attached copy of your contract shows that you signed to pay for the completed job at a "Per Insurance Scope" amount; which is explained on page 2 of your contract, (which you initialed) that "Per Insurance Scope" listed as payment on contract "Indicates that payment will be received according to the amount equaling the Replacement Cost Value (RCV) as indicated on the corresponding Insurance Scope...."
We completed your work per scope as follows (refer to attached scope for details):
Roof = $5870.39
Exterior Downspout = $217.17
Gutter Labor Minimum = $179.42
Total due for your project completed: $6266.98
Please note that work not completed was not charged. Those were as follows:
Shed = $691.53
Metal Building Labor Minimum = $139.87
Siding Labor Minimum = $213.40
Total work not completed and not charged = $1044.80
If you reference your Replacement Cost Value (RCV) insurance scope total on the attached scope, you will find on page 7 that the total RCV cost was $7311.78
So, our charge is $7311.78 (RCV insurance scope total) minus work we did not complete of $1044.80 = $6266.98
YTD, we have received $6014.83 in payments from you. The remaining amount due for the project completion is $252.15. It is clear to see you have not been overcharged in this case. However, I am seeing much correspondence from you with our office and we have been unable to come to an agreement with you to help you see that you have been charged fairly (which you have been - we would not cheat you madam).
**For the sake of clearing this situation off our plate so we are able to assist everyone else with repairing their homes and businesses (which is what we love doing!), I am willing to credit back your charge so we can all just move on.
I will point out that it is our preference as a company to arrive at a job prepared and is most likely the reason for the claimed overage in materials you state. However, again - We have charged according to project completion and to the contract you have signed in relation to your insurance scope of work project.
I trust this clarifies the issue. I hope you will be satisfied with your courtesy credit.
Please feel free to reach out to any one of our managers at ************ if any other questions remain.
Best Regards,
**** *********

I wanted to add two screen shots I saved. The first one is from a gentleman that requested an estimate. The second is what I was told by ****** *****. I am satisfied with my roof and it was completed in a timely manner. It took months to get the down spouts replaced. I was told that when the down spouts and the storage building would be completed at the same time. After the downspouts was completed the worker told me he was only there for the down spouts. He had no material to replace the roof ridge on storage building. I had already been called and ask if I wanted to find another company to repair the storage building. At first I just wanted them to finish the job. Then when the gentleman told me he was only there to replace the down spouts. I decided to just go with someone else to repair the storage building.Business response

Thank you for the response. Gutter crews specialize in the installation of gutters and other exterior installations such as vinyl siding. Roofing crews specialize in roofing specifically. For this reason, the installations would have been scheduled at two separate times. It seems there may have been a miscommunication along the line. However, it appears that we have resolved your request and have issued credit to your invoice. Your account is considered paid in full. Thank you.
And once again - This complaint does not involve Dynamic Restoration NE LLC out of Connecticut in any way. Just to be clear on that point. I am simply responding from Dynamic Restoration LLC out of Kentucky.
Thank you again -
Regards,

** ******
Your complaint has been addressed previously with how our company handles ordering materials for every job. The "extra" materials are at our companies expense to ensure that we are not short on materials to complete jobs and need to wait weeks or months to complete jobs. The "extra" materials are NOT charged to the homeowner or insurance company. Your account has been credited for the balance due that had nothing to do with the left over materials and is a zero balance for the materials that you kept that were paid for by our company.

My father paid nearly $25,000 for a roof to be installed on my late grandparents' home in which my husband and I are living. Dynamic Restorations removed the old roof and said they couldn't keep the original copper flashing that had kept this house dry for decades because then they wouldn't be able to warrant their work. They installed quite ugly box flashing which was discovered to be leaking at one of the 2 chimneys in Feb. 2022 (13 months after installation). I suspect it had been leaking in the attic prior to that as I could smell the damp smell. In Feb 2022, there were literal rivers running down the cherry paneling which is now ruined. They hired Barnhill chimney to come evaluate the chimney whereupon Dynamic restorations blamed the porous nature of the stone house and some chinks in the mortar. They also cited rotten window framing as a cause, even though there was no evidence of water staining under that window in the full attic. They would not redo the flashing. We had the entire house tuckpointed to remedy this as an excuse. We replaced all 5 attic windows. We still have active dripping in the attic when it rains. In July 2022, we had active leaking around the other chimney. It is damaging the knotty pine ceiling boards on a sun porch. Dynamic Restorations sent 2 employees out to evaluate the roofing and leaking. I waited for a report and suggested remediation. None came. We have continued to have active leaking in the attic (which is really an as yet unfinished second story) In December of 2022 I contacted Dynamic Restorations who informed me the 2 employees who came out in July were no longer with the company and first told me that the cause was the same as in Feb. (This did not make sense since i was told they had no record of anyone coming out in July, then telling me the 2 employees were no longer working for them. Then I was told bad masonry was the cause just like in Feb. (Please provide email where I can send the rest of this story).Business response

We contracted this company to do a roofing job. After they said they completed the job, we hired an independent inspector. Their work failed inspection, including direct violation of details contracted. They have refused to correct the issue, and have filed a lien on our home.Business response

Customer satisfaction is our main priority with any job. We want our customers to be fully satisfied because we want that customer to call us again for repeat business and also refer our company to other potential customers. Mr. ******* signed a contract for roof replacement on September 13, 2021. The work was performed by Dynamic Restoration on September 21, 2021. Even though the work was performed, Dynamic Restoration has not received payment for its services and material costs. Unfortunately, Dynamic Restoration and customer has been unable reach a mutual resolution in this matter. Thank you for your time attention to this matter and please let me know if you should have any questions. Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/01/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We are not satisfied with this response. We need them to meet their contractual obligation in order to receive payment.
