The old greasy headed ponytail hippy was a complete ******* . He threw out a price that my husband said he thought he could be at and he became unglued and then went on to say that hearing aids would help. Not impressed told him I didn't like his attitude and walked out. I pray he is not the manager and people have to work for this *******. Would not recommend to anyone .Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters Response

Sorry Marita. You both were impossible to talk to. I don't want to get into the looks of customers or any person or there intelligence level. It is just not a godly thing to do. Not every business or customer are meant for each other. I wish you the best in the future.Review from Issac T

Had a arb air locker put in my truck. The agreement was to put the compressor in the engine bay but it was placed under the bed. Also they done a master rebuild kit on it so all new bearings and seals in the rear end. 7 months later it’s leaking and has a ton of play. I took it in to schedule an appointment and told them what’s wrong all I got is ( that happens but it wouldn’t be covered under warranty) so I take it to a local shop in my town that I trust. he gets it apart and tells me the pinion bearing wasn’t seated properly and was cockeyed. My mechanic said it looks like they tried pressing the bearing in with the pinion nut by tightening it also the preload on the pinion was to tight. I had spent 5k on an air locker and new Yukon ring and pinion with new bearings and seals. And Smokey mountain done a half *** job on it I’m glad I didn’t have them fix it they probably would have put a seal in it and sent me on my way. would not recommend taking anything there.Review from Stacie S

I took my jeep here to have headlights, rock lights, third brake light, and wheel lights installed. And a tire rotation. I was charged over 2,400 for service and wheel lights don't work. I bought the wheel lights from them. Because I gave them a 1 star google review they canceled my warranty.Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters Response

They failed to balance and align the vechile the first time. I was unable to drive it all the way back to their shop safely so I had to take to a shop next to my home. The steering wheel was tilted and make it so my blinkers wouldnt function. They rufesed to give me a refund for services they failed to perform correctly and now its costing me double. I realize they have a no refund policy, which honestly should have been a huge red flag. I have a co worker who said they did the same thing to hime, so this is clearly not a one off. I will never return to this business and I will make sure to tell anyone I can about their questionable practices.Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters Response

Buyer Beware I purchased an item over the phone and paid in full for this purchase on a Friday. They advised they didn't have the item in the store, but would have the warehouse bring it over Monday morning and call me when it was there for me to pick up.Things changed and I no longer needed this item. I called them first thing Monday morning to cancel. When I called to cancel they informed me that I could not cancel as this was a "special order" item (first time i heard these word) and I would need to pay for it in full. That I chose to use the phone and this policy was posted online and in the store.Very long story short and 4 phone calls later, they had offered and I accepted a 25% restocking fee. After my card was credited I went and did a 1 star google review and a friend of mine who had visited the store on that Saturday submitted a 1 star review. My review never did actually get posted (apparently it was under google review for the length of it along with the pictures I'd added to the review) but my friends did."The Owner" according to google responded to my friends review posting my name and threatening to give out my personal information to their other customers to have them take this up with me.Both my friend and "the Owner" edited their responses several times "talking to each other". I have these screenshots. They called me an hour after the review posting advising me (I am making a long story short) that I had agreed to the refund and now since I'd posted a 1 star review they were re-charging my card as the refund I had received was "discretionary". First time I heard of this. It wasn't actually my review, it was my friends that they were now holding me responsible for. After many phone calls and being intimidated, yelled at, extorted, and threatened of being dox'd I asked my friend to remove the review. They did and I received my refund back again. I have reported this all to the Attorney General and will never be a customer of this company again.Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters Response

They replaced the steering knuckles on my truck. And new wheel bearings on both sides. Truck is still making the same noise it was before I took it to them for repair, except the noise is worse. Took the truck back to them to try and resolve the issue. Their mechanic test drove the truck only to come back to verify that they ordered the wrong size rotors. I asked management what they would do about the situation only to be told that I would be billed $500.00 each rotor × 2 and labor. I asked if that was the best that they would do by it being their fault for ordering the wrong rotors to start with and they said they would waive the labor cost, but I would still have to pay for the new rotors. And that they would return the old rotors without refund.Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters Response

this customer was made aware of the fact that ford discontinues parts for vehicles they manufacture after approximately 6 or 7 years. the only components available to repair his vehicle are after market. that being said, the customer had previous repair work done elsewhere, we were able to diagnose it, and repair it using new aftermarket parts. the issue is the aftermarket parts are a different specification than the originals. the vehicle is emitting a different noise than the original noise. we diagnosed it to the different build specifications of the aftermarket spindles originally replaced. customer was advised of this and he declined to make the repair. customer was advised multiple times before repair that this was a 'rabbit hole' of potential issues such as his above complaint. I personally, told him we as a store did not want to take on this task and he persisted, going to another sales representative, and goading him into taking on the job. knowing FULLY ahead of time the possible complications that would arise. That being said, we attempted to help the customer with the cost moving forward, he declined. There is not much else we can offer in this situation as we did not manufacture the parts, and the customer was warned the aftermarket parts may not fit like original parts, leading to possible issues, he accepted this.

As I read the reply from Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters, I see a response just like all the others filed.
They are making false accusations to weasel out of honoring their warranty and wanting to charge me for the extra cost of rotors at $500.00 each when they were the ones who ordered the wrong rotors to start with. And when the parts that came in were put on my truck, they should have seen that the rotors were the wrong size to start with. They could have easily called and said that the parts were wrong and they could have gave better customer service to resolve the issue.Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters Response

No false accusations have been made. as stated the manufacturer no longer produces parts for this vehicle. I go back to what I said originally when -I - personally told you I didnt want to take on the task of working on your vehicle. You INSISTED until one of the other sales people finally broke down and accepted the job. You were told upfront that the potential for this was possible due to using aftermarket parts. The new knuckles space the calipers / caliper brackets ever so slightly further outward radially vs the original set. this leads to the rust on the radial end of the rotor to make a noise. this is NOT the same noise as the worn out wheel bearing assemblies you brought it in for originally. We offered you free installation on the new spec rotors, only out of pocket expense for you was $500 for (a pair) of rotors. not $500/ea.Customer Response

I will be seeing the Attorney General tomorrow about filing a claim against Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters. The issues they supposedly repaired is a joke. The so called new bearings they replaced are already wore out and caused tire ware. And the vehicle hasn't even been drove that much.Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters Response

we have done everything we can for you, even offered future repairs pertaining to the lack of oem parts for your vehicle. at the end of the day the vehicle is older than the manufacturer themselves supports and the aftermarket components dont always conform to the exacting specifications of the oem parts. that being said we have spoken to you and given you a written estimate for the separate issue that has arisen on your vehicle. please let us know if you wish to complete these repairs.

Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters is top notch!! They did a complete lift kit install and other upgrades to my 2016 Jeep JKUR. The quality of work is great and they are committed to getting everything dialed in perfectly before letting your vehicle leave their shop. They also have a very nice facility and extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. They're not just order takers like a lot of corporate owned stores. They actually use and know about what they are selling and will help you find exactly what you need for your build. Their prices for parts and installation are very fair and they seem to carry EVERYTHING. I'm an old school car guy who is typically hard to impress and they have definitely impressed me. Thanks Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters for great service!!!Smokey Mountain Truck Outfitters Response
