My 11 year old Chihuahua Bella was seen at Dr. Gailor's office on 2/20/24 because she was squinting her left eye. We were told that they thought she had a deep kiss you ulcer in her eye and given the option of having her eye removed and all they were worried about was discussing financial aspects of said surgery. We were told no other options were available other than seeing a specialist which would cost more and then we were given an estimate of $2,500 to see The specialist and lots of follow-up care or we can have the eye removed with little to no follow-up care. I was also told that there was only a 25% chance of saving her eye even if we went to a specialist. We came home and over the next day or two after we scheduled her surgery we had to think about it. I ended up canceling her surgery and making her appointment at the specialist just to get a second opinion. On Saturday morning the 24th we woke up and her eye was ruptured and she had a lot of goop coming from the eye, I was concerned and we return to Dr Gailor's office where again we were told that the only way to fix it was to remove the eye then when I question Dr Robertson he told me there was another option of so in the asset and hoping that it healed but that probably wasn't a good option for her and it would also be a costly surgery. On Monday the 26th Bella was seen at the specialist's office at ********* ********** ****** where we were told of a different procedure and that the chances of saving her eye was 95% to 98% which were way better options. The surgery would cost roughly about $2,800 total with that visit included. After we left our office informed Dr Gailor's office that we had made the decision to go with the specialist. They in turn called The specialist and inform them that I had called with all kinds of questions which was incorrect and they wanted to know what the plan was. The specialist office contacted me concerned that I had more questions in which I didn't.
