We hired A-Ron, aka *** ******, to do repair work on our chimney around August 2021. He came out and gave us an estimate, and we hired him to do the work. *** ****** completed a little work and then told us his estimate was too low and he would have to charge more. We told him that we didn't have any more money, as we had only budgeted for what he quoted us. We told him to just let us know how much he had done already and we would pay for that work. *** ****** refused and said his dad had started the business and they were a family company, and therefore he would stick with his original quote. Over the course of several MONTHS, *** ****** continued to tell us he would be out to complete the work, but would then never show up. He stopped returning any calls or texts as well. Finally, in December 2021, he reached out and said he was coming to complete the work. It was December 22, 2021. We paid him $1,000 cash, up front, when he showed up to complete the job. However, he then only dropped off some concrete and said he would be back the next day to do the work. We never saw him again. In April, we reached back out for one final attempt to reclaim our money or have the work completed, and *** ****** informed us that he had been in rehab and would be to our house within the week to complete the work. Again, he never showed up. We have made multiple attempts to have our money returned or have the work completed and *** ****** never responded. On August 28, 2022, ***** ****** my husband, called *** ****** and the call was finally answered. *** ****** argued that the job was going to cost more than the $1,000. *** ***** told *** ****** we just wanted our money returned. *** ****** said he would come out to finish the job. We told him he had over a year to complete the job, but never did, and we were tired of dealing with him and just wanted our money back. *** ****** refused to return our money, and both parties said they would see each other in court.
