We entered in an agreement with Pro Finish Window and Siding out of Owensboro Kentucky on 3/4/2024. The agreement was for the installation of new siding on our home. The installation was complete on 4/24/2024. We do have a 1-year warranty on installation and labor via Pro Finish. On 7.31.2024, I was walking back from my garden in the yard towards the backside of our house and noticed that on the second floor the siding looked off – popped out of the j-channel. At the bottom of the siding a little to the right, I saw a gap between the siding and the j-channel. I had my husband come out to look and he took some pictures to send to Pro Finish. My husband texted the pictures to the gentleman at Pro Finish to let him know that we had an installation issue. The gentleman from Pro Finish responded that no, that is storm damage. The gentleman preceded to let me husband know in the text that is because of the storms that came through the previous night. The siding issue is on the east side of our house. Even if the wind caused this damage, the damage would have never happened if the siding was installed properly. On 8.2.2024 we had a contractor come and look at the siding on the second floor – no trip fee. My husband sent pictures that contractor took and also replied the following to the gentleman at Pro Finish: As you can see in the pictures. Loose channels and not properly cut pieces. That would be installation issues. The wind may have damaged this, but the installation was the reason. The siding issue at the bottom is because the siding is to short and there isn’t anything to lap into the j-channel. This is an installation issue, not storm damage. A storm can’t make a bad cut. If the siding would have been properly installed, correct cuts and nailed, we wouldn’t have this issue from wind. I sent an email on 8.3.2024 asking for a reply and have received no response.

We have installed the siding correctly.  I got a call from *** ****** 12 hours after a massive storm hit Kentucky.A storm pulled a piece out from behind the J channel as she noted. The other cut, I’m sure is from wind or debris damage. The home did not have any damage whatsoever when we finished this job six months ago. We do not cover acts of God. I told the homeowners we would be out to look at it, but it would not be immediately because we have been inundated with calls. I have a text message from him saying no worries as long as it’s done before winter and then I find out that they reported to the Better Business Bureau before we even had time to come out. I have a picture of the text message from him telling me as long as we get it done before winter , and that’s the last I heard from them until this. this house was done beautifully and they did not pay us until he walked around and inspected it. I personally met with them and there was nothing wrong with this job until after the storm hit the house. It affected thousands of homes in Kentucky, we have had numerous storms this year. We give one year labor warranty for this reason. We cannot be out repairing peoples homes when they are damaged by the storms for free. We’ve charge for a service call to repair storm damage. they said they were not going to pay anything and they are very impatient. These people live 30 miles from our office. They refused to pay in $85 service charge and that only covers our gasoline and our time. It’s worth more than that.. they didn’t give me even two weeks before they reported this to the Better Business Bureau, which is ridiculous considering what we’re dealing with here in Kentucky and the storms that have occurred this year. We are going to run the service call, but this is a lot of nonsense that I’ve had to deal with when he told me no worries as long as it gets done and then she goes and reports all this to the Better Business Bureau.
