We have been a customer in good standing for 15 years with this company. In early 2024 Greenwell Propane sent a letter to customers advising that a $199 service charge would be administered to their account if there was 2 years of non-use. We have paid for our tank to be topped off within the past 2 years. There is also a charge to quit the company, including a charge to empty the tank as well as remove the tank. For customers on a limited income either choice results in a high fee. Greenwell Propane doesn't answer their phone but leaving a voicemail is possible. Unfortunately, the company does poorly at returning calls, especially about this issue. There is no email available for the company. We've had a malfunction in our system that has been resolved in the past six weeks. Our generator is functional and has been running, and we require a refill, yet it wasn't within the prescribed time to avoid a $199 fee. If we could leave this company we would leave them immediately, but to leave would cost more than the fee. If their behavior is legal, it is certainly not ethical.Business response

Our Customer Service Manager has attempted to reach out to Jennifer Baxter and left several voicemails. If Ms. Baxter could please return a call to the number provided on the voicemail we would like to be able to work through her concerns. At this time, Greenwell Brothers will consider this matter closed until we hear back from *** *******
