      On the evening of June 6th, 2024, I visited the Circle K store to purchase gas and drinks. I used the self-checkout machine to ring up two 20oz Sprites and a 12-pack of Sprites. However, the machine incorrectly rang me up for a 20-pack of Sprites, in addition to the 12-pack and the two 20oz Sprites. When I hit "accept," the machine only displayed the 20oz Sprites and the 12-pack. It then asked if I agreed to the price, and I confirmed. After I selected "yes," the machine added the 20-pack to my total, but I had already entered my card information and could not cancel the transaction. I alerted the clerk, *******, who informed me that the store does not sell 20-packs of Sprite and therefore could not refund it. When I asked what my options were, ******* mentioned that the manager might be in for a couple of hours starting at 7 AM the next day. However, I work out of town and leave before 7 AM. I asked if someone would answer the phone if I called the next day, but ******* was not confident. He suggested calling the corporate number, which I did, and left a voicemail. ******* mentioned that the machine was broken but Circle K would not allow them to take it out of commission, and it was being held together with duct tape. Circle K, why don't you care about your employees and customers? Is it acceptable to take my money without a workaround? What would Circle K do if someone stole from their store? Because that is what Circle K did to me – that 20-pack of Sprites was added after I swiped my card.

      The store was in Monroe LA on old Sterlington rd. And loop road.
