I brought my bike in with a flat rear tire and was hoping to get tire repaired. The completely overhauled my bike with new gears, chain, breaks that were all working fine and I had no problems with. They took my vintage parts and replaced them with cheap ones and charged me almost 300 dollars. I get the bike back and go on a first test run and the rear tire goes flat within minutes. I bring it back they fix it, I go for a second ride and the front tire goes immediately. There was nothing wrong with my front tire when I brought it for repairs. I brought it back they accused me of misuse when clearly the tires were cheap and inadequate. They replaced the front tire and I brought it home and parked it in driveway, I didnt even sit on the bike and when I go to ride it there is another flat in front, again this tire wasnt flat when I brought it in. Basically my complaint is that I could have bought a brand new bike for the amount I paid to have mine repaired, they couldnt fix the issue and created more issues and took all my vintage parts metal parts and replaced it with cheap rubber ones. After spending 300 bucks and going back multiple times I still dont have a working bicycle and could have bought a brand new one for the money I paid. They simply said they dont feel comfortable doing anymore work on the bike. Well I would have never authorized replacing everything on the bike had they known that every tire they put on it was popping. This bike was fine and had 40 year old stock tires that I drove 100 of miles on prior to this one flat.Business response

Hello BBB, This complaint from ****** is unreasonable. He wanted us to work on his vintage bike (aka junk bike). Told him we can not make a rose out of a onion. He wanted the work done and we did it. He proceeded to leave the store and get a flat. He came back irate about this and I took the time to show him, and in front of him I pulled out the thorn that caused his flat. We tried to calm him down and reason with him, once the bike leaves the store if you run over a thorn, tack, glass, nail you may get a flat. He just couldn't understand that and kept circling back to the fact he had the bike all these years and never had a flat before. It was very difficult to reason with him. Please have a look at our reviews on ******* yelp, facebook. We are a mom and pop Main street shop that care about our customers and it shows. Most people recognize this and enjoy the care and service we provide. ****** brought us a junk bike and expected us to make it new
again.Parts replaced on a 40yr old bike or a 1yr old bike cost the same. The value of the bike does not effect the cost of the parts and service. We told him this up front but he wanted the work done,, and we did it. Please call me to discuss if needed. Rare to have a experience like this. It won't change the way we will continue to service and help our customers. Thank you, ******************************* @ Buzzards Bay Bikes ************
