I rented a Nifty Lift 64' boom lift from Taylor Rental on 9/16/24. The rental date is a Saturday and the business is closed on Sunday. Many equipment rental companies do not charge another day when renting equipment into a day when they are closed. I inquired about what the charge would be to rent until Monday morning with *** (manager) and he stated the charge would be "a day and a half." I found this to be acceptable. The day charge is $495. I took this to mean that the charge would be 1.5 times a day charge or $742.50. I made the arrangement in person on 9/15/24, however I was never charged that day or provided a receipt. I have an email from 9/15/24 confirming I signed a liability waiver though they did not provide a receipt in the email. I took delivery the next day, at which point I was charged ********. I did not discover the charge amount until Monday 9/18/24. I called to dispute the charge amount with ***. He explained I was charged for 1 day plus their 4 hour charge of $320. This total was $815. The same thing happened for the battery powered pole saw I rented. The day charge is $75 and the 4 hour charge is $55. I expected to be billed 75 x 1.5 or $112.50 but was charged $130. While on the phone with *** he stated he was too busy and would call me back. He never did. I called him back two days later and after going back and forth about this he asked if he could call me back. To date *** has never called me back. There is also a delivery charge on my bill which I do not dispute however I am disputing the bill for boom lift rental and the pole saw rental. In total I was charged $945 for the two pieces of equipment but was led to believe I would be charged $855. I was told I would be charged $73 for delivery and $73 for pickup. I am unsure how the bill reached $******** as the rental fees plus the delivery and tax (6.25%) still does not add up to $********. I am requesting Taylor Rental charge me the amount quoted in person and explain the rest of the bill.Business response

The fees for the rental were explained to Mr. ***** both verbally and in writing prior to the rental. I am not sure what other rental stores charge for weekend rentals and it really doesn't matter. All I know is that we explained our rates to Mr. ***** and he signed the contract agreeing to them. He only had an issue after the rental. The price did not change from the time he signed the contract to the time we picked up the machine.
