I have been charged a fee for collections when there were no attorneys involved. In fact, this collection fee of $78.50 was assessed in November, 2022 two months after all open bills were paid. I have attempted to work with billing group to no avail and was referred to *********************, the **** I have placed numerous phone calls, sent faxes and a letter to **************, but have not received a response. Per a recent call I placed on 02/03/23 to billing ***** to check status of the account, I was told that the balance was still on the account with a note saying hold collections. This tells me that it is not resolved. Since no one at the Eye Center has reached out to me to try and resolve the matter, I feel compelled to file a complaint. I am attaching a letter and copies of the bills.

This is inform you that after your involvement I was contacted, via email, by Ms. ********************* from Palisades Eye Surgery Center.  She apologized for not responding to my communications and for the billing error made by their 3rd party agents.  She also arranged for a corrected bill showing $0.00 balance to be mailed to me.  The new corrected statement was received today.  From my perspective the matter is settled.

Again thank you for your help.

On 8/23/2021 I had eye surgery. Prior to the surgery, the payment must be made in full. Services were paid in full using my debit card. Without my authorization or receiving a bill, on 9/6/2022 I notice Palisades Eye Surgery Center had deducted $78.33 from my checking account, ref ck. #****. I contacted Palisades on 9/8/2022. I was informed that the customer service representative, Jill would need to discuss this with her supervisor and would get back to me withing a couple of days. In the meantime, Jill asked me to send her a snapshot of the monies deducted from account. I did so. A few days later, i again contacted Jill. I was informed that Palisades would reimburse me my money. A few days later not seeing the reimbursement in my account, I again contacted Jill. She informed me that a check would be mailed to me in the amount of $78.33. To date, I have not received the check. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter of reimbursement of $78.33 taken from my checking account without my authorization.
