On March 14 2022 This place of business denied my animal life threatening assistance because they were not adequately equipped with the necessary staff to provide services. The staff rudely pointed me in another direction, even though this veterinarian office WAS my animals primary care. Because of their lack of professionalism, and down right inconsideration to an emergency, my animal suffered further traumatic injuries. I am extremely displeased with the lack of care they have for their animals and furthermore I wonder and care about the safety of the animals they have on board.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/16) */ I'm not sure what was wrong with the pet, but I hope he is OK. Our office opens at 7:30am on Mondays (including March 14th when this complaint was filed) to allow people to drop off their pets for surgery, boarding, etc. The doctors do not arrive until 9am. We are a regular private practice, not a 24 hour emergency clinic, although we are available to see our clients for emergencies during regular business hours. After hours we refer our clients to a local emergency hospital. This may not be ideal but our current 1 1/2 doctors cannot be present 24 hours/day/7 days/week. Sometimes our clients try to wait it out through the week-end with a sick pet to avoid going to the emergency hospital, and that may be what happened in this situation and might explain this client's urgency and aggravation with our staff. This particular client had been to our hospital once for the first set of puppy vaccinations, and although he never returned for the remaining vaccinations/neutering/routine care, we would have been happy to see him that day had he waited until a doctor arrived. According to our staff he informed them with rather colorful language that he was not going to wait. If the pet was truly critical, then I think their advice that he should go to a hospital with earlier office hours was sound, good advice. I reviewed our website to see if it is in any way misleading and implies that we are an emergency or a walk in clinic. It does not. In fact, it states that regular clients should call to let us know when they are coming with an emergency during regular house, and should go to PetsER after hours.
