      To whom it may concern, I own a pearl white 2014 Kia Optima; however, I am having an issue with the paint peeling and flaking off. My hood is peeling and the windshield pillars also. I googled this issue and there is ALOT of complaints about the exact same color paint and same areas. I called my local dealer and asked if there was a recall. They told me no. I do know that Hyundai had a recall on their pearl white paint and the recall is covering repairs. I called kia corporate and they told me it is a recall. Listen, I do love the car but I have already had to replace the motor because it locked up on my daughter on 95 doing 65 miles per hour and almost got her killed and now this. I know the two don't compare but I think I should be compensated for something that seems to be a problem nationwide with the exact same paint and year of the car. It took them forever to call me back and email me. I finally got a case number 2 months later and still no satisfaction. I have been fighting with Kia for 3 months now to get what is owed to me. I sent them my registration to prove ownership, i sent them 2 body shop estimates and all the pictures of the peeling paint they asked for. Now all of a sudden they want the sales contract from 8 years ago to prove how much I paid for the car. WHAT???? They even told me i qualified for the recall because it was made in NC and it's a 2014. The bill of sale has nothing to do with a recall for their defective paint. I don't have a copy of it and Kia does not keep records from 8 years ago. I talked to kia where I bought the car and they all agree it is ridiculous they want that information, and they recommended escalating this situation since it's a recall and they are not backing their customers. I am not sure I would recommend a kia to anyone at this point. I hope this review gets to the correct person and i can get some satisfaction since this is a defect on their part and not my fault at all!! Please advise...

      Poor commucation what so ever. I had appointment on 32-22 and when I brought my car in they claim I did not have an appointment when I showed the Manger the appointment text that came to my cell showing I confirm the appointment. The manger said " We did you a favor because your appointment was till the 9th, Service Manger promise me that he will have body estimated done when I pick my car up. They called me on March 9th they day the claim it was my appointment, to tell me my car is ready... I go on March 10th to get my car and when I get their the car is not ready because they did not do the body est. So the manger drove my car to get it done while I wait . The wait was not long but when I look over the est it was for the wrong thing. I need my rear bumper look at and the body shop gave me an est for the front bumper which is nothing wrong with perfect condition. Which I question myself how can you write on the est that their damage when their is nothing wrong. but he said he will call and they will look at it and I dont have to wait but of course I waited when he came out he looked at the bumper the rear one and went into his office gave me the same est ....I address it and said how can I submit this to the ins. company and if it the wrong est. Come to relized when he corrected it the front bumper is more than the rear, This make me wonder are they trying to get over the insurance company ,,,Something that was suppoed to so easy as to pick up a car that was finish cost me 4 hrs of my time and a missed appointment. wasted of gas...Only good outcome of this was a warranty transmission cause I can go and pay firestone and know they will do it correct and not all this driving.
