On 20th December 2021 my wife and I needed to take a Covid Antigen test in order to board a flight the next day (mandatory test within 24h of departure). We went to the First Call Medical Center at *** airport. There was a long queue of travelers looking to get the test. Everybody had to complete a 3 page form in order to be tested by the center. We had to sign a consent form that apart from the test we HAD to see a doctor and we could be billed up to $250. As everybody in the queue had no choice but to take the test everybody signed the form. We subsequently complained to the operator of *** Fraport (see attached email chain) as First Call Medical is the only provider of such a test (mandatory for travelers) in the airport and hence abuses its position by charging such a fee. In the email chain the owner of First Call Medical R** E******** replies to the *** operator that they don't charge that fee to American travelers. This is not true Please see attached bill from our health care provider Care First. The charge for our two antigen tests is $454.22. Which we will have to pay for! Apart from the fact that such a test is free at any reputable pharmacy (subject to appointment) and will take approx. 15mins we think that it is outrageous that a "medical care" provider takes advantage of a pandemic and related mandatory tests and charges outrageously for a service that they will get refunded for by the government in the first place and that travelers have no choice but to agree to.

While I still think the charges were excessive and are taking advantage of the situation, our health care provider paid for it in full. Hence no refund request. Thank you Best C***
