I rent a storage unit from this company, and they have not taken care of the parking lot at all this winter. When I reached out to the manager I was met with the fact that it is my responsibility. So how far into the parking lot is my responsibility? Because there is two feet of ice from my door to the parking lot. I am extremely displeased and was not offered a solution other than it was my job to take care of it. If I pay for a unit to store my stuff I expect to be able to access it and if he's not careful soon we will not be able to get into the parking lot because the gate won't open.Business response

On Monday, we were hit by a very bad snow and ice storm, the worst we have had in this area in several years that left us with almost a foot of snow followed by a couple inches of freezing rain. Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather. Our service provider plowed, sanded and salted the property during and after the storm. There was always access to the property for all customers. Some units did have ice and snow in front of the unit doors. Over the three days after the storm in below zero temperatures, unit doors were cleared. All customer leases state in section 1: Occupant is solely responsible for keeping leased space clear from snow, ice or other obstacles or impairments to access.
This customer's account was delinquent when the storm hit. She did not contact us and ask for help accessing her unit, instead she emailed demanding compensation. This account is still delinquent. The customer still has a lock on the unit but claims to have moved out after the storm. Move out cannot be verified with the customers personal lock on the unit.
