I purchase a home owners policy and paid $2013 ( the full year) in Feb of 2022. On Dec 30 2022 I cancelled as I was able to secure a policy that was $400 less expensive. I asked for a refund from the cancellation date to Feb.They finally responded after many calls and emails and they refunded the entire $2013 to my credit card.I called to tell the insurance broker who I used and was told to wait for a new bill. I got a few bills for the same amount of $2013 and I called and emailed each time.Again was told to wait. Then I got a letter and a text from a collections agency. Called again and have emails that say they did not send me to collections.Clearly they did. So it feels like I am the only one trying to resolve this so in August I filed a comlaint with teh board of Insurance. I was assigned a case and that lady was worthless.The only time I heard from her was when I called. She told me that they had gotten the bill corrected and put the collections on hold til Oct. Theythey never told me that. I recieved no mail or email, nothing. She said she would get them to send it and a week or so ago I did get a corrected bill and a letter saying there had been "human error" and the bill was correct and I could contact him with any questions.I have sent him 2 emails and left 3 voice mails because I need to pay by credit card. Called the billing and they said I had to mail a check??Got a call last Monday from a ***** with Farmers who said she would try to help. She then said she would call me the next day. Never heard back from her and left her 3 messages She finally called today and we processed the payment on my credit card. Problem is I need a gurantee that the collection will be reversed and I can not get that. I should have never been sent to collections and there is no reason it should take over 10 months to correct a bill.They should have refunded me $198 not $2013 and their mistake has cost me countless hours of calls, emails, and just pure frustration and rage
