I am being improperly charged by this parking garage (owned by Metropolis Parking) - they sent me a notice for payment and are refusing to remove the request. Here's the story: I was attempting to find parking in *******. I pulled into the garage in question. No pricing was displayed and no attendant was in sight. The parking garage was almost full and it took us some time to find a spot. The garage transitioned to ** code only for payment. It was our first time doing ** parking payments. Only when we scanned the ** code, displayed near our parking spot, were we able to see the price (only able to see it online). The price was very high so we immediately left. We were in the garage for a total of roughly 10 minutes (entry at 4:58pm and exit at 5:09pm). As we left, I confirmed with the attendant (at this time, the attendant was present) that we did not owe anything. The attendant confirmed my understanding. After exiting Greektown Garage, I found parking at a reasonable rate at another garage (parked there for 3 hours). So obviously I was not attempting to park in Greektown Garage. (I sent Greektown the receipt when disputing the price with them, showing them just that). Greektown Garage attempted to charge me over $100 (they sent me a bill via postal mail). Once I disputed via email, they immediately reduced to $50. The violation number is ***********. But they are refusing to remove the charge in full. It is unconscionable to charge me for driving in and out of a garage - especially one where no pricing was displayed and I left immediately upon learning the price. I would like this charge removed in full and any report to credit agencies to be reversed.
