This account the the complainant is disputing was purchased in February 2024 by MMG Law Group, PLLC. The initial letter (communication) was sent on or about 2/26/2024. Several attempts thereafter, were attempted to contact the complainant in this regard with no success. On or about April 11, 2024 our office received communication from Consumer Direct on behalf of the complainant with the claim never signed a contract and requested a reply on their website, to which we tried to no avail initially until 4/24/2024 when we submitted online per their request the requisite information validating the obligation. We made further attempts to contact the complainant thereafter without any direct response. Complainant instead decided to submit this BBB complaint claiming we are violating his/her rights. We once again urge the complainant to contact our office directly to discuss this matter including the proof we sent in order to resolve this issue.

This business has been calling me from spoofed numbers the last few months. I answered the phone and told them stop calling and a person said I took out a payday loan in 2019. I was in no financial trouble in 2019 and I know I did not take out a payday loan. They told me I had to pay $1000 dollars. I told them I would not pay. A few years ago, around ************************************************************************************ I filed a report with the ****************** and those persons were prosecuted. I believe these people are related. A company called MMG Law Group has put a derogatory **** on my credit report for collections because I would not pay. They put that I owe $500, which decreased my credit score by 35 points.

In response to the BBB complaint, please note that this consumer has also filed a simultaneous CFPB complaint. The description of what has occurred leads us to believe that this consumer is confusing us with another agency. I will explain, first, the account in question was purchased by MMG Law Group in February 2024 and the initial letter sent to the consumer was on February 29, 2024. We have had no conversation with the consumer in regards to this matter and our letter in fact was not responded to. We made 3 attempts to call the consumer using an automated dialer platform @ ************ (the phone # we have on file) but have had no response. Therefore, the allegations in his complaint do not point to us and therefore we believe the consumer is confusing us with another agency. We in fact credit reported this item, but have since requested its removal pending this complaint. If the consumer wishes to contact our office to discuss we will be happy to provide all necessary information to substantiate our claim.
