My husband and I purchased a mattress and movable base on May 11th 2024 from Runyons Furniture and Flooring in our hometown of Monroe, MI. We paid around $4500 and were told (by our salesman, *****) that the base we were purchasing contained the following features: head and foot adjustable with head and foot massage, wireless backlight remote control, compatible with app (for phone use instead of remote), undercarriage lighting, USBs, and two memory positions. After install (June 10th 2024) they showed me the remote, handed me the manual and left. After they left, I read through the manual looking for all the features (see above) that ***** had told us it had. I was disappointed to see that it simply moved up and down and had the USBs but none of the other features. We called on the following day and were told we needed to wait until Wednesday to speak with *****. We spoke with ***** on Wednesday and he apologized stating he had misspoke and not done enough research and incorrectly told us what we were buying had many more features than it actually had. We expressed our disappointment and ***** assured us that the following day (Thurs. June 13th) that a manager would call us to resolve the issue. When we didn't hear anything, we called ***** back who then admitted no manager was even working and no one would be calling me. He then proceeded to yell at me on the phone threatening to hang up on me despite my calm and reserved tone. He finally admitted that since he had made the mistake, he was going to get in trouble and therefore had not gotten any managers involved and was hoping to solve the issue himself by getting me to send him $200 and then he would order us the better base (normally $400 more), which he originally had told us was the one we were buying. I expressed that I felt I was being scammed and do not feel comfortable sending him any more money. He then said my only other option was to return the mattress and get a refund which I then would have no bed.Business response

We are giving them what they want. No upcharge. We ask they sign something saying they agree to release the funds once they take final delivery of furniture.Initial Complaint

New carpet was purchased and paid in full prior to installation due to installation being completed while out of town. Upon arrival home, a seem was noticed that ran from wall to wall. When contacted, we were informed seem was in closet and not in that area and a rep was sent out. A defect in the carpet was identified and we were notified that they would reach out to manufacture. After several calls we were finally told that the manufacture admitted the seem was a defect and we were told replacement carpet at manufacturers expense would be ordered and installed. A month and a half later we still cannot get a straight answer from Runyons. Constantly told that a manager will call us back and never does.Business response
