Traverse City Eye filled prescriptions for 3 pair of eye glasses over a 2-year period. They put an incorrect prescription in the right lens in all 3 pair, as recently as ---------- In addition, the prescription was placed in the "geographical center" versus the "optical center" (not aligned to my pupils, but below). From the onset, I was told "your eyes will adjust". Multiple phone messages went unreturned. Eventually, I took the glasses to a third party for assessment of the glasses...prescription in hand. The third party identified the above 2 issues. Traverse City Eye was contacted re: the issue. The response was "why did YOU not let ** know?" "Why did YOU wait so long?" They reluctantly agreed to remake the prescription glasses, however, the boutique manager (NP) required coaching to measure the optical center placement. She indicated optical and geographic center were the same. I was questioned by this individual who stated "not understanding the trust issue! When the first pair of the remakes arrived (sunglasses), 2 days later a lens fell out. Traverse City Eye's boutique was contacted. I was told "NEVER GONNA MAKE YOU HAPPY". The employee then hung up the phone without scheduling a time to repair the glasses. Attempted resolution with the general manager (4-18-23) (JMC). It took 3 days to receive a phone call from him. His demeanor was unprofessional, antagonistic and THE CUSTOMER WAS THE PROBLEM. He was not interested in the errors made by his staff. I was blamed. He proposed a check refunding MY GLASSES, in exchange for a termination of the relationship. I asked for a detailed receipt of the refund to verify with my vision insurance company. Instead, a check was issued 5-9-23 for $311.00. According to insurance records, this amount is incorrect. I'm again requesting a detailed accounting of the refund for the 3 pairs of glasses and the balance of the agreed upon refund. In essence, my vision has been strained for two years as a result of staff errors.Initial Complaint

I went to Traverse City Eye for cataracts on June 24, 2021. I left that appointment understanding that I would be given a state-of-the-art IOL and a chance to live glasses free except for reading. My surgical experience on July 20, 2021 and follow up was horrible so I went to another practice. From that practice I learned that I had a mediocre IOL. Traverse City Eye now says that the lens is medically best but no details as to why. The lens gave me zero chance to go without glasses. I paid $3700.00 for them and have to wear glasses every waking moment. For zero out of pocket cost a patient can get a Medicare covered lens and wear glasses every waking moment. The prescription would be different. I was duped into the IOLs I got and have no value added for my $3700.00 If I have to wear glasses, I do not care what the prescription is as the cost is the same when I buy glasses.
