My visit to Luther Bloomington , Hyundai was not only disappointing but also deeply unsettling, warranting a very low rating. The initial salesperson I had an appointment with at 5:15 failed to show up, leading to an encounter with Zack, another salesperson whose service was substandard. He made us walk a considerable distance to the car and was vague about its location, despite claims that construction wouldn’t impact service. Zack’s behavior seemed racially biased, particularly when he was hesitant to allow a test drive. However, the situation escalated significantly with the manager’s involvement. Far from being understanding or apologetic, he was extremely arrogant and appeared to engage in racial profiling. His unwillingness to provide information about other dealerships and his indifference to Hyundai’s reputation were appalling. He even implied that if I wasn’t purchasing from this dealership, I shouldn’t bother at all. When I asked the manager to show some respect, he reacted by kicking me out of the showroom. This was after I mentioned that I would be leaving a review about my experience. This level of unprofessionalism is deeply concerning, especially considering the manager’s role in setting standards for the dealership’s employees. Although the saleswoman who originally scheduled my appointment did appear and apologized for being short-staffed, this did little to mitigate the overall negative experience. It’s imperative for Hyundai/Genesis to address these serious customer service issues at this dealership. I test drove an explorer and the wipers would turn on by themselves. I told the saleswoman about it. She said they will take it into their shop and look at it. I was told they fixed it. When I bought it. I drove off the lot and the wipers turned on. I called them immediately. Less than 5 mins after signing the papers. I was told too bad it’s as is! Then less then 24 hrs after purchasing the vehicle the main screen went out! I haven’t spoken to them because it’s Christmas, Merry Christmas to me, but I know what I’ll be told. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAM ARTESTS!Review from larissa d

There was previous damage to a vehicle I purchased that they did not disclose and they knew about. After months of trying to fix this and avoiding my emails and calls and after being pushed from person to person they declined to help resolve this with any help.Luther Bloomington Hyundai Response

Good Morning, the vehicle was retailed to ******* on 2/27/2021. Every pre-owned vehicle that is sold at Luther Bloomington Hyundai is inspected for any ************ damage and also mechanically inspected. If the vehicle needs any work performed, the dealership reconditions the vehicle. We also provide every customer buying a used vehicle with a carfax report and there are still to this day no accidents reported on Carfax. ************************* is now starting to notice body work that we did not perform prior to the vehicle being sold to ** and was never disclosed to ** when the previous owner traded it. We even sold this vehicle as a Hyundai Certified Pre Owned vehicle. We are not responsible for any work that needs to be performed on this vehicle. There is nowhere for me to attach the carfax report here, but would be happy to do so. The problem was when they fixed an area of bondo in that area they saw the area was already repaired due to damage and never disclosed this before I signed to buy it. A dealership that knows that a vehicle had damage and does not disclose this to the buyer and even goes further to hide the previous damage by giving a carfax report that shows no damage is fraudulent.Customer Response

The worst dealership and service I have ever seen in my entire life.I ask them to fix a dent on my car but they changed the oil instead. I don’t even go there anymore I’m gonna service my car at Morrie's 394 HyundaiReview from Dave H.

My Santa Cruz that I waited 4 1/2 months for was delivered to me with a dent in the rear fender and protective plastic covering still attached over many of the interior parts. Apparently they did not inspect the vehicle before telling me it was ready. Also, I told the sales person long before it arrived that I wanted to pick it up READY TO GO with all the options I wanted already installed. That also didn't happen. Took it to a different location for undercoating and Scotchgard -- they gave us a loaner vehicle for the day. I think they need to send their paint-less dent removal person to my place of work to fix the dent that should've been fixed before I picked up the vehicle!Luther Bloomington Hyundai Response

It sounds like there were some quality control issues and Im very sorry that there was a dent on the vehicle and plastic left over from the pre delivery inspection. I will look into our PDR tech to come to you to repair the dent or we can drop a loaner off and pick your car up for the PER tech to complete the repair on site. I was very excited to purchase a used VW golf from this dealership. I had my financing lined up and was told that the vehicle was off-site currently, but would be informed the moment it returns. Fast forward a few days and I was contacted regarding the vehicles availability as it had just returned to the lot. This info was relayed to me at 4:00pm on a Friday. At the same time, I was told that the first person to walk through the door gets the car, despite never having been told this earlier on in the deal. Concerned, I had offered to wire my down payment, use a credit card or anything that I could do to secure the car that night. I was told that this was not a possibility. I understood that and knew that if someone were to walk in before they close at 6 that evening they would have first rights to the car. I was okay with that. I asked what time they open and how early I could come in on Saturday. The answer I was given was 9:00am. I arrived at 8:55 the following morning, greeted by someone and I told them I was here for the golf. They sat me down at my salesman's, desk to wait for him. He arrived approximately 15 minutes later. I laid out the cash for my down payment as I had already filed all of my necessary info for the loan and was approved for the purchase far ahead of time, all through the dealership. I was then informed that someone else had test driven the car earlier before the dealership opened and that they have first rights to the car. My presence as a purchaser was then used as leverage to secure the sale that had apparently been initiated before the posted hours of operation. I was sat down to wait for one hour and 20 minutes before being informed that the other customer decided to purchase the car. So the takeaway is, if you come here and are the first person to say you will purchase a certain car, don't be surprised if they sell it to someone else that was somehow granted the opportunity to take as long as they want to decide, despite the first comeLuther Bloomington Hyundai Response

We are incredibly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused for ******************. This was a breakdown in communication between 2 different sales people working with 2 different managers simultaneously. This is inexcusable and we are sorry for the experience that ****************** went though. This issue was discussed amongst managers and immediately addressed so this type of situation does not occur in the future.
