I moved into these apartments on 12/30 and I already had problems from the beginning, the was not clean. The whole refrigerator had to be replaced because it was not freezing my food. The heater was barely working it was days where it was extremely cold and I had to keep my son on socks and long sleeve pajamas. The sliding door was letting in a lot of cold air. The ac unit is not properly insulated. I had to put a tarp to cover the sliding door. The noise from all the residents coming in and out the apartment is ridiculous. I have only been at the apartment for about a min and it always something. I was giving other people info in the mail. From 2021 , 2022, 2023. Its now a problem with ants all over my apartment and I cant even have furniture in my apartment because of it. My sons are getting bit in the face from it. They are very unprofessional, they dont take anything serious. Until you start talking about taking legal action. Propers west apartments are nasty

Thank you for reaching out to us. It is unfortunate that you didn't allow us reasonable time to investigate all of your claims, however, we would like to proceed amicably at this time and allow you to be released from any and all lease obligations, considering you have already physically vacated.  We are working to complete your deposit accounting. We will be refunding any rent paid for G-319 as you didn't take possession of this unit. We will also be refunding the rent for the month of February for Unit B-109 as well as one garage as a good faith effort to support your claim that you didn't reside in that unit during the month of February. Your security deposit on file of $400 will also be refunded lessor your final utility charges. You did reside in the unit during the month of January, thus, that rent will not be refunded at this time. If you would like to contact us with a physical mailing address to send your refund to, please email ************************************** as soon as possible. If we do not hear from you within the next 24 hours, we will mail the refund to ************ ************** and notify you when you may physically come to pick it up. We wish you the best of luck in your new home.

This company gave me a quote on an apartment in writing and collected a deposit on the apartment. The agreement was that the deposit would not be refunded after *************************************************** 6 days after the deposit was taken. The terms of the lease were completely different from the document that was initially agreed upon. When I refused to sign the lease with the different terms my deposit was taken. I believe this was done intentionally to take my money while rendering no service. The original agreement and actual lease can be provided as well email exchange with the company.

I have a long list of complaints. I was concerned about the apartment not being cleaned. They didnt call me until I called them on September 14th and said the apartment was ready. But charged me from sept 6th. The employee stated they didnt do what they were supposed to they recleaned the carpet and stains which were there before were not after the second time cleaning the carpets. They had people enter my apartment with no prior warning written or otherwise. The handbook says we are not to use anything with a flame, I complained about incense being burned and they sent out a letter that said if you are going to burn incense, open a window. I am physically sick to my stomach because of the smoke and smell. I have been back and forth with this company since the day I moved in. Nothing has been done. I would like to move out with no repercussion on my end due to the fact they are not upholding their end of the lease. I feel as if I have been duped by this company. I feel as if they said stuff to get me to sign the lease. I asked to have a moldy board under my sink removed and they just covered it up with remnants of flooring. I have a child who has already been sick most of his life. Now we are living in a moldy and Smokey apartment. The manager has not responded to me in weeks. I am a broke single mother and I cannot live in this environment with out feeling sick daily.

The details ************** brought forward to our corporate team today as well as in her complaint certainly do not represent the standards that Centerspace expects of our on-site management team. Therefore, we are in the process of looking into this further with the site team to identify and correct this going forward. However, it is our position that we have offered ************** an amicable solution by allowing her the option to terminate the lease contract. In addition, Centerspace will waive the standard termination fee and notice period that is typically required to terminate a lease. At this time, we are awaiting the final details from ************** as to the exact date that she will return possession of the home. Once we confirm that the home has been returned to us, we will commence rent billing and complete a move out inspection.

I was a resident/lessee at Palisades Apartments located in *********, **. I did not receive a Certificate of Rent Paid for 2021 tax year. I have tried several times to contact the company and get the *** to no avail. KMS sold the property to Centerspace in September 2021 and now KMS website is shut down, phone number disconnected and I have no way of of getting this important tax document that was supposed to be mailed in January 2022. I want my *** immediately because I need it for my taxes.

I am a resident at ************** Apartments, which is under the Center Space property umbrella. Center Space recently acquired ************** Apartments (about 4 months ago), and since then, I have only ever been able to achieve contact with the apartment complex/property management once, and that was on their terms (signing a new lease with an increase in rent by $170 a month). Since then, every single maintenance request/phone call I have made has been ignored, unacknowledged, and not returned. The breaking point came when I submitted a maintenance request two weeks ago for a smoke detector issue AND called 4 different times throughout the two weeks. I completely understand delays/having other jobs to do, but I'd appreciate at the very least some sort of email/contact with property management, as an issue with a smoke detector could be a very big hazard and I find it unsettling that I can only ever hear from my property management when they need more money. I am also about to submit an *** letter for my animals but am very worried that I'll never get a confirmation/acknowledgement of any issue that nothing will be resolved. The management also has multiple phone numbers so I have no idea which is the correct phone number to reach them, so I try every number possible.

I recently moved out of a Centerspace property, ********* in ************, ** on 6/18/2022. The property management office sent me a deposit refund check of $76.50 out of $500, which was my original deposit. ** Statue 504B.178 states that within 21 days either a) the full deposit must be returned, with interest, or b) a written statement detailing any deductions, as well as any deposit remaining, must be provided and returned. The property did not provide or send any written documentation on the deductions from my deposit within 21 days, even after me asking for it after receiving the check with no documentation. I have tried to contact the property management office, as well as corporate office multiple times, and there has been no effort to provide me with that information within the 21 day period required by law, which has since passed.

Thank you for sharing this customer complaint.  Our team confirmed that the original deposit refund was sent in a timely fashion.  Despite that, we decided to refund the deposit in full with no deductions as a show of good will with this resident.

My partner and I lost our jobs and found ourselves unable to afford our current apartment. Our friend offered us the chance to move in with him until we are back on our feet. I contacted Centerspace to let them know that we lost out jobs and we couldnt afford our apartment anymore. The individual I spoke with let me know that in order to get out of our lease, wed have to pay $2500 and still be responsible for two months of rent. I explained our situation again, and asked if there were any alternatives due to our employment issues. During this conversation I offered alternatives such as finding someone to take over our lease, or a payment plan for the fees. We were not offered alternatives, and told that if we signed the agreement to break our lease, it would be due 10 days from the date of signing, and if they could rent our property in the 2 months that we were responsible for apartment, we wouldnt have to pay for those two months. I fully understand I signed a lease and responsible for the payments, but Centerspace refused to work with us on our situation. We can not afford this apartment and would like assistance with handling this situation.

I attempted to get this resolved from the main office about my garage door not working they said to replace the system was too expensive but yet still are collecting rent for the garage from me and refuse to fix my problem. They refused to help me get a different garage door opener and said that they had many other complaints of this happening but had told them the same thing. When I asked what was going to get done I was told they can only report how many people complain about the garage system not working and it's too expensive to replace. It states in my renting lease that it is part of my rent and I'm upset it's not working.
