10/22/2023 I was living at ******************************************* *********, ** *****. I moved out of this address at the end of June of this year 2023. When I was living there, I had created an account online with ********************** website. I emailed them about my issue and things that needed to be fix while living there, through their website. So my communication was through their website. When I moved out, they gave me my deposit back, my deposit was $1125. They gave me back $295. They stated that $600 was for replacement of blinds that I asked to them to replace, if they were going to raise the rent, and other damages that they claim. I left that place the way it was, the only thing, I did not clean was the shower, and fridge. I only lived there for a year. They deleted my account with them, so my communication with them was lost. I still have my text message with them, that was good. They charged me $290 for deposing of my trash, which I had a rug and a lamp. I message them about someone going through the trash, and throwing thrash there a couple of days after I moved out. I went back, a day after, to walk through, and the trash bins looked like someone was digging through it, and trash everywhere, which I cleaned up. They never did a walk through with me, when I moved it, or did a move out walk through. Now they trying to make me pay for new things for the place.Business response

Deductions from the security deposit are the decisions of the owner of the property, not Verde Property Management, hence this complaint is misplaced. The tenant was provided a security deposit disposition of the breakdown of the deductions. Their complaint is not accurate. $355 was deducted from the security deposit for the blinds as well as other miscellaneous maintenance items that needed to be addressed. However, Verde did take the tenant's concerns to the owner of the property and did get an additional $300 refunded to the tenant regarding those items. Remaining deductions for cleaning remained as the tenant did not clean the home and professional cleaners needed to be sent to clean both inside the home as well as clean up the trash that was left outside the home.
