Finch Home tried to extort my 82 year old parents for a simple repair. They started at $20,000 and then in a hi-pressure in-house visit that day grinded them down to $14,500. Then I called the President Cody Finch after, e-mailing my specific request on forcing a Fraudulent price on the elderly and those with Dementia. I told Cody send me the proposal/Invoice a 2nd time on the phone. I asked him if he refused to do that, and he said he would send it. It never happened. Then after my explicit instructions that we would contact them after we got the requested details, they called my parents again, and pressured them into an $8,000 job for partial work. They threatened that their 1970 house was not up to electrical code. We are filing a complaint with the Minnesota Attorney General's Office, and they have been helpful. We had a Local Electrician inspect the house today & they determined all they needed to do was replace a 200 Amp Circuit for their Microwave estimated from $400-500. Everything else was an unnecessary shameless attempt to shake-down Elderly by Selling Fear. Shame on you Cody Finch. you've been in business under 4 years and claim your Goal is to become Minnesota's most trusted electrician. https://finchhomesolutions.com/meet-the-team/ Matt Blood is the name of his on-site Technician that did the in person hard sell. The other Electricians were honestly disgusted and told me how to file a complaint with the Minnesota Electrical Inspector assigned to this Lake Minnetonka area.Finch Home Solutions LLC Response

We were called to this customers home due to a microwave that had burned up a receptacle. Our technician when on site did an assessment of the electrical system and offered 3 different options with a very wide range of pricing with everything marked up to cover fees. Our top option on paper was close to $20,000. We offered discounts for signing up for our membership safety program, paying with a check, and starting the project when we had techs sitting at home. That all brought the project down to $14,500. The homeowners tried to negotiate down to $12,000 and while I was on the phone I had stated that maybe the top option is not what they needed to do as it may have been outside their budget. The homeowners had decided to go with the top option as they liked that it was the best system available. We ordered all the materials and had it delivered to the home to begin the work that same day. We completed half of the project that day but left the new sub panel set up in a tempt in manner as we were to be returning the next day to complete the work. That night we received a phone call from the customer stating that their son was extremely upset about the money they were spending on an electrical project and that they wanted to cancel. This was of course not a big deal as we just needed to get the remaining bits of material and wrap up what work was started to a point where an electrical inspection could be passed. When on site the homeowner again tried to shake us down in price to the $12,000 to complete the project and I had told the homeowner that we are not doing that as we do not want to further be in the middle of anything with the family issues. We completed the work that had been started the previous day, gathered the materials that were unused so we could return them and left. There were no pressure sales in this home as I stated to the homeowners that we could leave the quotes with them to look over and could return when ready. The homeowners wanted to begin work right away.Review from Shannon H

Asked for a quote for a car charger install. They wanted to charge money for the estimate, when most others were free. This was just to start. When I said no to paying, they then decided to come out for a free estimate. Upon arrival, the estimator was more focused on up selling us whole house surge protection for a lot of $$$, then stated that it would protect against surges, except for lightening (this is why most people would want surge protection). Then, he tried to talk us into signing up for a service plan that would have a monthly/yearly fee. He said it was to inspect the system. To my knowledge, most parts of the electrical system don't fail, and if they do, it is usually due to a bad breaker or receptacle, which can be easily replaced for the cost of a month or two of their monthly service plan price. Here is the real kicker - they quoted me $2650.00 for the charger install - not including the charger. This price was DOUBLE the quotes I got from other electricians. This company preys on the people who only call for one estimate. When I had the electrical inspector out, I told him the story, and he said that he could guess who the company is, because it makes him sick what they charge old ladies who don't get more bids. He said he was not allowed to say the name, but when I said Finch home solutions, he smiled and nodded. BUYER BEWARE, THIS COMPANY IS OUT TO UPSELL AND OVERCHARGE YOU.Finch Home Solutions LLC Response

Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience you encountered during your interaction with our team. Providing excellent service and fair pricing is paramount to us, and we regret if we fell short of your expectations.
We understand your concerns regarding our initial quote process and subsequent recommendations. We offered some of our guaranteed 3 hour service windows that we do charge for in which was declined and then we offered our full day service window which is not a guarantee which is why this is a free service. Our goal is always to offer transparent and competitive pricing, and we regret any misunderstanding regarding our fee structure for estimates. We appreciate your feedback and will review our procedures to ensure they align with industry standards.
Regarding the pricing discrepancy, we strive to provide competitive rates for all our services. We understand our quote for the car charger installation did not meet your expectations compared to other estimates you received. Your feedback regarding pricing is valuable to us, and we will take it into consideration to improve our offerings. It is never our intention to upsell services that are not necessary or do not leave a home in a better or safer state than when we first arrived. We will address this with our team to ensure we maintain a customer-focused approach in all interactions.
Please know that we take customer feedback seriously, and we appreciate the opportunity to improve based on your experience. If there is anything further you would like to discuss or if you have any additional feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust in the future.Review from Thomas H

Finch is NOT your home solution I pushed my appointment out and they still can't show up during the time I'm available. They claim it's due to other appointments and the weather. Fist day of snow and it's going to be a long winter. Also customers should not have to worry about other people's problems. Suggest you find a different solution. The owner of the company told me he doesn't care about my security cameras or other electrical issues I have here because he has old ladies without heat. So other people's problems become your problem if your a Finch customer. The owner doesn't care.Review from Becky R.
