The Manlin company completed my neighbors house and was a contractor for them. They hired a sod company to come in and install some new grass for my neighbor. When doing so they took off an external pipe to the property which caused water to continuously pour out of this pump into my yard. And doing so my basement has gotten water damage in our furnace room and our finished rooms downstairs. The Manlin company and side company are being negligent and taking responsibility for their actions. Our neighbors contacted the Manlin company about the water leak and it took them a week to fully address the issue with them even ignoring the neighbors. It is gross negligence on the Manlin Companies behalf for not addressing this issue sooner and T Hill Construction for not putting the pipe back on the property after laying down the grass.Business response

Thank you.It is our understanding that the person making this claim lives next to house we built in Brentwood at **** ******. We sold this home in March, 2023. As part of the construction process we provide an extension to the sump pump outflow on the side of the house. Some time between March and July of 2023 it appears somebody detached this outflow and any discharge from the pump may of been directed to the claimant property. As we have not done work on this house in several months, it had to of been another party. Recently we received a call from the claimant along with pictures of what appears to be damage in their basement. It should be noted that this damage looks to have occurred a long time ago as there were signs of rust and maybe mold. The claimant threatened us with a lawsuit and claimed that his fiance was a lawyer at a prominent law firm (which we subsequently proved to be false). It should be noted that despite not being responsible for any claimed damages we did have somebody reinstall the sump outflow. While sympathetic, we were not responsible for any damages and frankly wonder if the claimant was looking to blame somebody for damages that were pre-existing.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: The Manlin company contracted a company to install sod at **** ****** *** ********* ** *****. The company they hired disconnected the sub pump which caused water to leak into our basement. There were no damages prior to the event happening as stated in their claim. We are not looking to take advantage of a company but their claim is false as they have worked on the house in July while installing sod.
