English Sweep came highly recommended by our HVAC guy and it makes perfect sense why! I couldn't be more pleased with the ultimate professionalism, customer service, and quality of work we received from them. From the initial phone call to set up the inspection, to the service technician who did the inspection, to the 2 technicians who came to do the work today... top-of-the-line service all the way around! This is the first time I've ever used this type of service, and they made the entire experience painless. The estimate technician was very thorough in his explanation of the work that needed to be done, using the pictures that he took during his inspection. The technicians who did the work were respectful not only of our property but to me as well. They did such an amazing job of cleaning up after themselves, that one wouldn't even be able to tell we had work done (aside from our shiny new vents and tee). I can't speak highly enough of this business, and I will be sure to recommend them as much and as often as I can.

English Sweep was great! They installed a liner in my 112 year old chimney, which was more difficult than anticipated. However, the price did not go up even though the job took longer than expected. I will be using them for all of my future chimney and fireplace needs.

total scammers. according to them, my three year old full masonry fireplace was going to be the death of us all. Do Not Use until repairs are made. They came out to clean the chimney for a home sale and left with attempting to scare us into spending money with them. They figured we could not close the sale without the timely completion of their recommended repairs which involved a $7500 stainless steel liner. The smoke chamber was built wrong and the stone veneer was going to fall. Got ahold of builder and he sent me the engineered plans that the fireplace was built from along with the stamped county approval notice from when it was built.Contacted a "real" masonry contractor and he came out, inspected the entire fireplace, and said all that was needed was a minor tuckpointing in the back of the firebox. Repair bill went down by a factor of 15.I am confident in my builder and the masonry contractor that came out. I have ZERO confidence that "English Sweeps" will not try to lie and cheat their way into your pockets.

Hello,Our CSIA certified Techs adhere to the *** 2017 standards. The St. Charles **** planning & Zoning also adhere to the *** Codes. M1801.3.2 Flue passageways. The flue gas passageway shall be free of obstructions and combustible deposits and shall be cleaned if previously used for venting a solid or liquid fuel-burning appliance or fireplace. The flue liner, chimney inner wall or vent inner wall shall be continuous and free of cracks, gaps, perforations, or other damage or deterioration that would allow the escape of combustion products, including gases, moisture and creosote.R1001.8 Smoke Chamber. Smoke chamber walls shall be constructed of solid masonry units, hollow masonry units grouted solid, stone or concrete. The total minimum thickness of front, back, and side walls shall be 8 inches (203 mm) of solid masonry. The inside surface shall be parged smooth with refractory mortar conforming to ASTM C199. Where a lining of firebrick not less than 2 inches (51 mm) thick, or a lining of vitrified **** not less than 5/8 inch (16 mm) thick, is provided, the total minimum thickness of front, back and side walls shall be 6 inches (152 mm) of solid masonry, including the lining. Firebrick shall conform to ASTM C **** and shall be laid with medium duty refractory mortar conforming to ASTM C 199. Vitrified **** linings shall conform to ASTM C 315. On *************** inspection of your fireplace system it was found to have gaps in the flue tile system mortar joints and the smoke chamber is not parged. Our CSIA certified Techs are to educate customers on the condition of their fireplace systems in accordance with *** Codes. We do provide solutions to the issues at a cost. We have our own Construction Crews certified to provide these repairs.

Everyone I came in contact with from the initial call to their office, to **** who came out to inspect my chimney and write a proposal, to the crew who came two days to complete all needed repairs,each were professional and helpful. This was my first time using a chimney sweep service so I had lots of questions. **** took pictures to show me the extent of the work needed. The crew completed the work and cleaned up afterward. I highly recommend English Sweep and I am pleased with work they did. **************
