On Aug 19, 2024 around 5:20 p.m., I took a package to the UPS store that did not belong to me. I recently moved into a house where the previous owner has the same last name as mine. Sometimes his mail comes here instead of *************** and I place it back in the mailbox with wrong address. I wrote his address on the package and took it by the UPS Store in ******* and explained this was not my package. They said that I would have to take it to a HUB. I said it wasn't my package, I was just trying to get it to the owner. They informed me that they didn't take those type packages. I said it's not mine so it's not my problem and proceeded to walk out. I heard a lady say "Throw it in the garbage" and they did. This package was from Best Buy addressed to *********************. I had written his new address and number on it *******************************************, ************ that I got online. When he comes by looking for his package I will inform him what happened and send him to the store.Business response

We at the UPS store in ******* appreciate our customers and their feedback. We are a franchise store and not **** The sales associate tried to explain to the customer that it is against policy to take refused or misaddressed packages and that she would have to take the package to a distribution center. There were 2 other employees and the store manager present when the issue occurred. The customer angrily refused leaving the package in the store. The statement " she mine as well have thrown the package in the trash, if she isn't going to take it to the distribution center" was made. Not that we were throwing it in the trash. A UPS driver took the package and informed us again its just going to go back to address on the label, which is what we tried to explain to the customer. Unfortunately, customers don't always understand or respect company policy and this in turn causes them to become angry and irrational. We are sorry for any misunderstanding and were only try follow company policy and protect the customer whom the package was addressed. Have a wonderful day.Initial Complaint

I returned a package back to this store on November 6th. The package was Olive Timberland Boots that were supposed to be return to Champs Sports. My packaged was never shipped from the store and now I am being contacted about paying for an item I do not have. When I try to file a claim they tell me it’s too late or it’s nothing they can do. They give me the customer service number and I can never get connected.Business response

The customer was given a receipt when he returned the package to the ups store. If the package was lost in transit, the customer should provide that receipt to the company (who he bought the item from) he is returning the package to. It is that company's responsibility to file a missing shipment claim with UPS.
