I'm told that Maxxsouth provides the cable service to the ****************** and nursing home. I hope it is provided for free otherwise Maxxsouth is stealing from the hospital. My mother is a resident of the nursing home and the cable has been terrible from day 1. Cable channels would go in and out with the TV indicating "weak signal " A few months ago at least 3 channels have completely stopped working (Food, ****, ********** The ones watched the most. When I wrote to ask about the channels ****** responded 3 times. The last response informed me that someone from the business office would come look specifically in my Mother's room. No one came. After waiting a few days for an explanation I emailed Takya and have yet to receive any response. I certainly hope the hospital is not paying for this service.MaxxSouth Broadband Response

MaxxSouth resolved this issue on November 13th. Their problems were due to a faulty amplifier module feeding their digital-to-analog adapter to the individual rooms. The module was swapped out on November 13th, and our maintenance department worked on noise mitigation throughout the complex. A MaxxSouth Technical Supervisor went on-site on November 14th to verify that all channels worked correctly on all televisions. Additionally, we contacted multiple staff and residents to confirm that services were working correctly.Review from Gracie H

Maxxsouth runs a monopoly over the services in **********, **. This is a college town, the county seat for a rural area, and the location of our vet school. This past week a letter was mailed out saying services will be discontinued for all current equipment and we had to switch to fiber. I made an appointment Monday and the line was laid but not buried 6/18/24. Today 6/22 a tech was supposed to come and install indoor equipment and couldnt because mowers had hit the fiber cable that is just thrown out across the grass. I am including pictures of how cords are never buried and in the pictures with tall grass those will soon be cords cut when the monthly **** hog comes to cut the larger field. I was told they couldnt bury the line until speaking with someone but care isnt even taken to put it close to the house. It is literally thrown in the grass. Its summer in *********** and the grass grows quickly and mowers come at least every week-week and a half around the houses we rent. This is apparently our only option. We pay for the lowest speed and cannot even get decent service. Their phone line is also very hard to use because it does not always recognize the numbers you type for the options. When you do get in line, it offers a call back. I have done this option twice (6 days ago) and never received a call back. I had to go to the physical location. If the line is not buried it will constantly be hit and this is an issue throughout the neighborhood. Some people have their neighbors fiber line going across their patios and you can see them hanging up on old satellite dishes. Thats peoples attempt at avoiding the mowers. And regardless you will get charged and they do not try to rectify any situation. Youre just thrown to the bottom of the list. In some locations in ********** it is the only option and in others its the most affordable. ATT and ******* and CSpire may offer services at twice the going rate of what they offer.MaxxSouth Broadband Response

We reviewed ************************** allegations upon receiving the informal complaint. On July 9th, a MaxxSouth Technical Supervisor confirmed that ************************** fiber line had been buried. MaxxSouth apologizes for the delay in getting her fiber buried. We cherish ********************** as a customer and will extend her credit on her account for the inconvenience she experienced.Review from Thomas K.

Worst company ever. The website is not negotiable, auto bill pay is hidden and cannot be accessed. Also the customer service is terrible. I was left in a chat with a rep for over 30 minutes with no response back. This was by far the worst customer service I have ever seen.MaxxSouth Broadband Response

We are showing the webchat with Mr. ********* was disconnected from the customer’s end at 10:05 AM, 2 minutes after ***’s last reply. Mr. ********* can call or chat with our support again, and we will try our best to answer his questions or concerns.Customer Response

Your information is completely wrong. I was in the chat for a full 15 minutes longer after a wait from *** with no response from him, so if anyone left the chat it was him oe your wifi dropped the chat which is still your problem being as you are the porvider. I finally called in from my phone and a different phone provider and got my issue resolved but I still can not log onto this companies site to pay a bill and will not try any other attempts. I have had this same problem with them previously and will not use their website anymore. Its the worst site I have ever tried to use.Review from Derek M

Maxxsouth refuses to resolve issues they have at a local switching station. Because of the poor state of their equipmentall customers connected to this segment are and have been experiencing outages for at least, the last four years. I have heard from their field techs and their customer service reps that this problem is NOT at the customer location, but the down link switching station. This is a fiber distribution building for network services in the area. Maxxsouth refuses to address the problems here but have no problem passing this off as a modem problem or a splitter issue. I have been at my current location less than a year, had the coax to the pole from the house replaced, and so far, they have replaced two splitters and four modems. none of which have fixed the problems. Maxxsouth does not want to meet their obligation as a "high speed" internet provider, but DEFINITELY want you to meet you obligation towards the monthly bill, constantly calling when it's late and threatening to disconnect for non-payment. Neither option works well when working from home. PLEASE ASSIST!Review from Grant G

I currently pay $80 a month for the 500 mb plan. The ironic thing is - the eero states I receive 500 mbps. However, when my work laptop is hooked up to ETHRANET I am pulling only 2/3mbps, and I only have 4 devices on the network at one time! This is ridiculous. I had a technician come out and swap a faulty wire, and then they buried the wire underground. Everything was great for 2 days. I was getting 125 mbps. Looked out and a tech was out there for "routine maintenance" the next day, and obviously he swapped a component on the pole (it was a different color) and left my internet chord undone. I called them and they had a tech to reconnect the wire. Ever since then I have gotten 3 mbps. I cannot express how unprofessional this company is. I'm a software developer - 3 outages per day really effects my work. I am constantly on the hook for dropping out of meetings or being unheard due to package loss. Of course, all I get is "Unplug the modem, Restart the network, or is there a software update?" No Tim from Tupelo. There isn't a software update. Sad thing is they have a monopoly over the area unless I want dial up internet. Which I don't.Review from Dylan A

Well good luck at getting service. Drops several times every day. I was out 19 hours from 4 pm Monday evening till 11:01 am Tuesday. Dropped service at 11:26 am and again 4:07 pm. A waste of time to ask for service. They will charge you 60 dollars for a service call for their faulty equipment. Got call Wednesday service tech enroute. He/she never showed up. If you call to report outage….after speaking with neighbors who had called and reported neighborhood out. They say no one called!!! I was first. Apparently lying us good for MaxxSouth!! Please get a better service. We live in rural area. No online college classes as will drop and you never know when. The people of this area deserve better for the astronomical price paid. Got 500mb for same amount before I moved here. In 14 years called service one time. Found out Main office blown up with servers. Not something planned. Here is every day. They need to do better. Maybe figure out how to wire and pay for decent equipment. They tried 6 modems here before one worked.. really??Review from Jesus T

This company is one of the worst service providers I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve had a tech come out 3 different times since I’ve had the service. (July 6, 2023). My internet drops every 20 minutes. Making it impossible to play games/surf the web/ or use anything. I couldn’t even stay on the phone using wifi call with one of the support agents and the call kept dropping. They don’t give me any answers as to why they haven’t resolved the issue. The tech doesn’t stay long enough to even test to see if the service is fixed. I was supposed to get logs of the “watchlist” they put me on to record data of my modem. I never got them and they refused to give them to me.Review from Steven T

Literally took me a month to get a tech to come check my internet. Showed up 6 hours late, did practically nothing. Had to wait 2 weeks to get another out (where I requested a second tech, but sent the same guy) did pretty much nothing but replace one wire, saying my connection was fixed. 3 days later, had issues again because the route he swapped mine with on the first visit died. Told them I needed a new one ASAP since I do some of my work from home, they scheduled a swap 4 days out, during a time I can't leave me job. Crap company, avoid at all costs. I'll be switching companies ASAP.
