We received a $400.88 charge from Daughtridge Gas in **************, NC for installation of a propane gas line for gas logs being installed by our remodeling contractor. The distance of the new line from an existing pipe connection is approximately 30 feet with no obstructions. The request for the gas line installation by Daughtridge was made by our contractor since we are long time customers of Daughtridge buying propane gas for our heating system. The itemized list of charges shows material items at prices 2-3 times what they can be purchased for from retail suppliers locally and labor at $95 per hour. We feel these charges are unfair and deceptive in that none of the prices were disclosed in advance. Multiple attempts to discuss this with ********* at the ************** office have gone unanswered. The first attempt was in person on Monday, Nov. 29th. ********* was not in the office and we were told by his staff that he would be returning in about 30 minutes and would call us. After not hearing from him we followed up with a phone call on Wednesday, Dec. 1st. Again ********* was not in the office and his staff told us he would be back soon and would call us. ********* never called and when we followed up on Friday, Dec 3rd he was not in the office and his staff said she would again put the request for a call on his desk. ********* has not returned any of our calls and we feel he is denying us an opportunity to discuss our concerns. I am 85 years old and my wife is 84. We have been loyal customers of Daughtridge Gas for many years and feel we are being treated unfairly.
