The problem is habitat wake restore knowingly lied about selling a double wall oven, and that the single wall oven it would need to be modified into a double wall oven. They never said anything to me and they never said to habitat of Durham. I did offer them a compromise but according to them I signed a paper no fund. But that can only apply if they were clear and documented as to what was needed. Habitat thinks they can falsely misrepresent the product and keep ppl money. Habitat never was up front about not having a double wall oven, never up front about not having a pantry cabinet that does not have a pull out draw, and never up front said anything about modification would be needed. According to habitat of Durham ******************, they never said anything to him. So, key is habitat wake restore appears to mislead people of color and disable. Based on there actions it appears habitat wake restore might be practicing unethical behavior towards elderly, disable, and people of color. Also, the bigger question is how many times have they pulled this behavior.Business response

On 11/10/22 the customer placed a cabinet order with our team. The customer indicated that he would be purchasing a double oven. With that information we proceeded building a quote for the customer which included a design layout. Prior to the order being placed,the customer provided measurements and approved the design and layout. The customer also signed our waiver form which covered the following points:
- As a special-order item based on each customers design preference and measurements, cabinets cannot be refunded
- Installer must check all measurements. Customer checked off that this action was completed
- Confirm that the list of materials being ordered are correct
With the customer signature indicating that he understood our policies, we proceeded with placing the order.
Specifically with the cabinet in question: the oven cabinet was ordered equipped with one drawer which would allow the cabinet to be field modified to custom fit the particular make and model of double oven. This is industry standard.
However, we were made aware by the installer that the customer wanted to change his stove type to either a cooktop or a single oven. We communicated to the customer that we are not responsible for any changes to the original design.
We have communicated with the installer to let us know if there are any issues with installation of the cabinet with a double oven. We will ensure there are no issues with the original order. If the customer decides to go with a different appliance type (which differs from the original order), he may purchase a new cabinet at his own expense.
Our team has been in constant communication with the customer to explain the process.
