I agreed to purchase a Sheltie puppy, Mike, from Burkhart Sheltie and paid the purchase price of $*** + $*** in air travel/shipping form their shipping company, **********************. A shipping tracking # and receipt was emailed. This was June 18, 2022. The puppy was supposed to ship out on Tuesday, June 22 in the am, with tracked delivery to my home by 6 pm EDT. Burkhart Sheltie texted and emailed Tuesday, 6/22 that the puppy was at the airport but needed an air conditioned crate due to the extreme 96 heat. The purchase price was $***** but one could be rented for $***, with a $*** refund after the crate was returned at 6 pm. The crate was rented for $***. The "puppy" "missed" the am flights, but tracking asserted that he was in his crate and in the air at 6 pm. The flight was tracked to ** when ************** called to say that additional money ($***) was needed to insure the puppy. At that point, I knew it was all a scam and did not send additional money. No puppy ever arrived, of course, and no money was refunded. I'm requesting the refund of the $*** purchase and shipping price AND the $*** crate "rental" that never occurred.
