Planet Fitness had the nerve to go into my bank account without my permission. They were already authorized to one other account and not my secondary account to which they helped themselves with taking moneyReview from Dorothy P

My husband went for a tan and I for a water massage *****, told me to go to the 4th. When I went back I saw that 2 and 3 were occupied in a cycle I waited My husband came back to meet with me after his tan I was still waiting The two other ladies had already left and on 2 had left her water bottle. My husband asked ***** why my bed hadn't started yet He told him I was suppose go to 2. No he didn't. My husband said that he told him that he turned it on. Nothing I waited then went to the front and had to wait for him he ignored me until After a min I asked him if I could get the massage to start politely. *****: I told you 2. I told him, no, you said 4 which made sense 2 and 3 were occupied and in cycle He insisted that I was lying then ***** said I already stared 4. I said it wasn't going He didn't believe me so then he walked back it was off. On the way back he kept saying I told you 2. I said nothing. *****: I can manually turn it on for you I said: Yes Please. I backed away I didn't want to be near him and his lying. Again *****: you seem upset. you can talk to my manager. I had said nothing He wouldn't leave and became aggressive I told you number 2 I was at the other side of the room crying My husband asked me if I was ok, I told him No Im not, he's being a d*** he is lying and blaming me. ***** said, I'm canceling your membership. You can't talk to me like that. I wasn't talking to him ***** was talking like he wanted to start a fight and wouldn't stop ***** said he's canceling our membership My husband asked to speak with a manager I said nothing just stood in the lobby, crying with my back to him for the rest of the time *****: I'm an educated man. When you went back there did you see two people on 2 and 3? my husband said No, I went back there 15 minuets after she went back there and the other person left a water bottle on 2.' ***** said, 'see you just proved that I put her on 2.' ***** was also arguing with a maintenance man.Review from Sufyan A

Let's just say horrible customer service and arrogance at it's highest level. I've talked with the club manager *** as well as a representative for canceling my service. I wanted to cancel over the phone, I was told I need to go in and sign something. There was no need to sign something but they did cancel when I went in. It's another scheme to get subscription payment from unsuspecting customers that either can't go in or forget to do so. Notice how you can start a service with ease online, over the phone, in person but canceling it noooo, it's serious business and needs to be done via certified mail or in person. I get charged on the 17th for new month of service, I went in on the 13th to cancel, apparently it's too late do do so as you must do this at least a week prior, their system can't handle canceling and not charging customer for another month when it has not even been charged yet.Review from Noreen D

I had a horrific experience with planet fitness Eustis Florida. I had a membership there, then I got a personal trainer. I use the trainer three days a week. I go in Wednesday asked for her, they said she called in sick. I said they don't call the clients and cancel? The kid behind the counter said no we don't do that. I said, you don't do that? you don't call the clients and tell them that their trainer is not going to be there? he said no. I said so the trainer doesn't call or the staff for planet fitness nobody calls to cancel somebody's training appointment? Tom the guy again says no we don't do that...she has hundreds of clients she can't call everybody! I said hundreds of clients I said every time I come I'm only the client she trains. He said oh you would be surprised and laughed. I stood there baffled to the arrogance, rudeness the cockiness of this young man! I said I can't believe that a company like this wouldn't call and give their clients a heads up when they have a standing appointment. I said I have a business a nonprofit and have had several businesses and have in my life. This is not a good way to do business. This kid was so arrogant and obviously had an ego trip on authority. I have never been treated so rudely I said Do you have a phone number to planet fitness corporate? He says, no we're not allowed to give it out. I said ok do you have an email address for corporate? he said you have to look it up online ..each time replying with such arrogance I stood there in awe, dumbfounded by this young Smart Alec cocky kid. I was actually speechless! I asked if I could speak to a manager he said I am the manager. I said well I'm sorry but you're a poor excuse for a manager and then he screamed at me pointed at the door and said get out you are terminated!! I said what? I shook my head negativity, Blown away as I walked out of the gym I went right home and called planet fitness corporate a week went by I didn't hear anything so I called today and they tolReview from Richard R

I feel like planet fitness is not as forthcoming as they should be about the charges that their patrons will experience, and that they employ shady business tactics in order to milk their customers. They charge a $40 yearly service fee, and a quick Google search showed me that I was not the only person who was taken by surprise with these charges upon receiving them. In fact, I was one of at least hundreds, to possibly thousands affected, and there are numerous complaints and news articles on the exact topic. That aside, I chalked the whole situation up to my own neglect for failing to read ahead in my terms and conditions and accepted the loss, but as I was still unhappy with the tactics used, I planned to cancel my account before the next billing date, because even if it's stated in some small print that makes it legally acceptable, it is sneaky and shady, and I refuse to patronize any business with tactics of the sort. Last night on January 16th, 2021, I went to my local planet fitness to cancel my membership. A full day before my membership was set to renew. And was told that I would still be charged for the month because I had not canceled it within 10 days of the renewal, which is also something I was not aware of. I am extremely unhappy with the service, and do not believe I should have to pay for a month of service I planned not to use and cancel in advance of that month.. it is already made impossible to cancel the account by any other means than visiting their location in person or sending a letter via the US postal service. In a day and age when nearly everything is available online or by phone, it is a conscious decision to deny that option to customers, in the intent behind that choice seems fairly obvious. Due to all these reasons, it seems to me that they are employing "legal", yet shady and morally defunct business tactics in order to keep revenue coming in, despite how many people they take advantage of in order to receive it. This can be made right by explaining everything that will potentially be paid or could be expected in detail to a customer upon signing. I might not have felt so slighted or taken advantage of if I had some sort of notice. At the very least, I would like a refund of this month which I tried to cancel and have no intention of using.
