I had my bachelor party at the Christmas cabin in October 2021. It was a good time except the owner was absolutely terrible. There was a blanket that accidentally hit the heater which burned a hole in it and we offered to go buy a new one and instead she charged us $50 for a blanket that was clearly very used and old. (Understandable) Apparently there were complaints that we were loud, yet no one came over and asked us to be quiet. She accused guys in my party of running around the fireplace naked (This absolutely did not happen.) We had a few guys stay later in the morning of checkout to clean up some more, and she charged us a late fee. Also, understandable. She did not refund us our security deposit. The owner is one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to. We wrote an honest review on social media, she got angry and charged us $150 (it's been over 5 months, what?) I contacted my bank because that is complete fraudulent activity. Would not take your business here, there are way nicer cabins elsewhere. 1/10

We are not perfect, but 99.8% of the bad experiences and reviews our business get derive from individuals upset when charged fees. Sadly, it is when businesses enforce policies and charge individuals that the people react and become angry, bully, threaten, and start to call names. Not one of this person's charges were fraudulent or unauthorized!

All our guests enter a legally binding contract when renting one of our log cabin homes. When reserving a cabin, individuals sign and agree to the terms which state that they authorize us to charge fees if the rules are not followed. Once a reservation is accepted we give individuals 48 hours to cancel their reservation with no penalty if they feel they cannot abide by the terms which they sign and agree. Leading up to a guests' arrival date, we even send multiple e-mails that state fees will be charged if the guest policies are not followed. We do our due diligence in making sure that guests are fully aware that fees could be charged by signing and agreeing to our Guest Policies and Cabin Rules.

This individual had several breaches of contract and was charged accordingly; a late fee, property damage (time spent and the replacement cost of blanket), and had the $150 cabin rental deposit hold forfeited and converted to a charge because they did not return the cabin and the surrounding property to us in the condition which it was given to them. On top of his disregard for our property, this individual and his guests behaved in an uncivilized manner, had no regard for quiet time, and impeded other guests' enjoyment of their rental cabins and property amenities.

We understand this individual is angry that he was charged fees, but these are the terms which he signed and agreed. We may have been rude to you on the phone, but when being threatened with attempted extortion we are unsure how our response may have come across. On the phone you stated you would leave us negative reviews if we did not give you your $150 cabin rental deposit back. Bullying does not work with us. We did not succumb to your attempted extortion, so your $150 cabin rental deposit hold was converted to a sale and became an authorized charge.

Your derogatory comments about the business are your opinion and based in anger because you incurred fees. There is no need to berate a business because you were unable to hold up to your end of the legal contract. We find this unnecessary and offensive.
We proudly offer a rustic cabin experience in an unbelievably beautiful area of the country. Most of our guests staying here have a 4-5-star experience when not charged fees.
