      Had the company come out to do an inspection, cleaning, and (if needed) repair in December. We have two fireplaces, one gas and one electric. This is obviously not my area of expertise but it didn't seem like the person from the company did the most thorough job inspecting. Didn't go on the roof, didn't seem to clean from the top of the chimney down, didn't use a drone--these are things I've seen elsewhere. Was also charged quite a bit more than anticipated as I was told it would be $179 to do BOTH fireplaces and then was charged $179 for EACH fireplace...plus over $200 for a repair to the wood-burning fireplace that took just a few minutes. I was annoyed and surprised but paid. Wanted to be safe as we've never used the fireplaces (it's only our second winter in the home) and we have a baby in the house.Called them back this month to see if they could just double-check their work to ensure my family would be safe using the fireplaces. Was asked how much it would cost and was told by the woman who answered the phone that it wouldn't cost **anything**. Person came out and did the re-inspection. No cleaning or repair. Wasn't here for 10 minutes. Wrote a **** for $179. I told him about the conversation I had with the receptionist about this being free and he goes into "what do you think this is? We come out for free? We used gas and paid tolls to get here." I could have gave him a true piece of my mind but we were in front of my house and I have neighbors so I was calm and told him I didn't want to pay and I'd need to speak to his boss. Got his boss's number and forked over the money. Boss (his dad) basically backed him up. No apology for the confusion, no "I'll speak to my receptionist", and definitely no refund. My own fault for using the company. Check their Better Business Bureau rating. It's an F. Seems to be for good reason--bad communication and customer service for cursory work.

      Hello, sorry for your experience you had with us, our number 1 goal is customer satisfaction. In your case you had 2 fireplaces, maybe 1 chimney but 2 fireplaces and we charge for fireplace or flue, appliance etc if needed at the time of service. We were very clear about this on phone. As far as the repair if it takes 10 mins or 2 hours, youre not paying for our time, your paying for our experience and the warranty we give you with the repair which is 10 years, as apparently it was fine as BOTH fireplaces passed the following years inspection. Now as far as the second visit, if we come out and do a written inspection report which is what you wanted THEN we charge a flat rate fee of $179 (same as cleaning per flue, fireplace, appliances, etc) as we do plenty of them for people who are selling or buying their homes. You didnt just want to know if they were dirty which we told you on the phone that they wouldnt be dirty or needed anything as one was gas and other electric and previous they were both wood, so after our cleaning of them both that they wouldnt need to be cleaned again. You insisted so we came out, we usually charge for written inspections same as cleanings (per flue, appliance, fireplace, etc) but being that you were a returning customer we only charged you for ONE instead of TWO, and that still wasnt good enough for you. If you had such a bad experience the first time, then why would you have us come out the following year again? We tried telling you on the phone being that we already cleaned a gas and electric fireplace that were prior wood burning, that they do not need cleaning anymore as we removed the soot from when they were wood burning, as gas and electric give off no debris. We wish you good luck in the future, and enjoy your clean working fireplaces.
