I have a loan from this business. In October 2023, business had internal issues resulting in auto payments not being processed on time. This issue was resolved and I called the business to ensure funds have been transferred to cover my monthly payments. Business then sent a false 30 days due late payment reports to the credit bureaus which drastically affected my credit. I have reached out to business multiple times to have the report removed and business have refused to cooperate. I bank with the same bank and at no point was there a refusal to make payments on time. All payments are also on auto debit.Initial Complaint

On April 13, 2023 the 'The Atlantic Federal Credit Union' sent out an email to it's customers that indicated they were upgrading their *********************** Systems, which began on Thursday April 13, 2023 and was to be completed by Monday, April 17, 2023.They indicated they're online banking systems would be unavailable beginning April 14, 2023. Here is there website as well; **************************'ve been unable to reach anyone at 'The Atlantic Federal Credit Union' since Monday April 17, 2023. I've been trying to call them since 9am (ET). And as of Tuesday April 18, 2023 (11:00am - ET) I've still not reached anyone as of this complaint. At this time I am UNABLE to access my account information or do any ONLINE BANKING as it pertains to this company. They only have one main number which is; ************ and no one is answering for the past two (2) days. I'm concerned about the security of any monies I've invested/deposited with this company. Bottom line is there is NOT 1 person I can reach within this Credit Union for the past 2 days. No updates on their website as well regarding any issues they may be having. Resolution I'm seeking is foremost that they are still in business and secondly that I gain immediate access to my banking information so I can pay my bills.Initial Complaint

On approximately October 5, 2022 I received a complaint in the mail from their attorneys requesting that I respond to a subpoena. I contacted Atlantic Federal Credit Union to confirm if the money they had on hold in the amount of ****** had been disbursed to the attorney as they originally claimed in July 2020. However, they could not locate the information and could not confirm if they money had been held or released. I contacted the attorney's office, they told me to reach out again to Atlantic Federal Credit Union because this appeared to be an internal issue. I tried to reach out to them several times after someone named ******************* up on me but no one was available, they claimed a supervisor was not available and continued to transfer me to a number that would hang up. No one was able to explain to me where the money went the attorney stated that it was never disbursed to their firm.Initial Complaint

My husband and I were previous members. We both terminated our accounts because of the OVERWHELMING amount of junk mail we received for ************** and auto insurance etc. every month (for each of us). These are large packets with our personal information all over it so they have to be opened and shredded. We called numerous times to stop this annoying behavior and had no success, just false assurances that it would be handled. We then terminated both our accounts (2 years ago) hoping it would stop, but we STILL get these constantly. When I've contacted them (over 5 times in the past year alone), they say that the information is given to "their partners" and that they can't control the contact but they promise to get it handled. I disagree, they gave MY PERSONAL INFORMATION to other companies and they are absolutely responsible for terminating communication when requested. I want to STOP BEING HARASSED with nonsense offers saying that "as a member of Atlantic Federal I have to respond to my life insurance offer by x date" that I then have to shred. I am NOT a credit union member and it's their responsibility to ensure this stops since they are the ones that sold my information in the first place.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I was told that I and my husband (***********************) have been removed from all future offers. There are still some scheduled mailings that I will receive, but after that I should not get any more.
Regards,
***************************Initial Complaint

I was never notified by Atlantic Federal Credit Union that I was being charged $20/month for inactivity fees. My account is now drained of all funds and closed. I cannot even log in to view the transactions on my account or when the fees incurred began.
