My Experience with Ozzy's Auto Repair, ***********, ************ ** I had the misfortune of purchasing a tank of regular gas on Saturday, December 23 from our local gas station. Heading to finish last minute shopping before Christmas after filling my tank, my car came to a dead stop in the middle of *********. It was less than 25 feet adjacent to Ozzy's Auto Repair and roughly 0.3 miles from my home of 18 years. Several good Samaritans (who I can't thank enough) pushed my car into ****'s parking lot. Closed for the holiday weekend, I had to leave my car there with a note. **** told me I needed new spark plugs because the bad gas had saturated them which he said would be complicated to fix and estimated the cost at $600-700. Just learned from ********* (who is my regular mechanic, but closed last week for the holidays) that the spark plug replacement is a simple job with 1 hour worth of labor. Ozzy billed me $869.55! After the repairs were completed, he claimed that the cost for the spark plugs was $238.00 for labor ($60.00 for the plugs), but TO REMOVE THE BAD GAS WAS $476.00 for 4hours worth of labor. There was NO LABOR IN REMOVING THE **** HE USED A SELF-OPERATING MACHINE TO REMOVE THE ***** I saw it myself and he sent me video footage of the process. When confronted, he tried telling me that the high cost was because my car was inoperable at the time when he began the work; that he "saved" me his $150.00 diagnostic fee by not including it in the $869.55 bill; that other mechanics would have wanted to removed and charged me for all kinds of parts. He knew my car was stranded at his shop and my regular mechanic was closed for the holidays. I believe ****'s Auto engaged in deceptive business practices.Business response

Being in business for 25+ years, this is the first complaint I ever had. I have a very good reputation in *******, ** We are a fare and honest mechanic shop.
Here is the answer to customer complaint. Below you will see all work performed on customer car that we have not charged to customer invoice.
1- no start diagnostics was performed.=1 hour labor
2- Compression test on all cylinders= 2 hours labor
3- Electrical test on all ignition coils=1 hour labor
4- Fuel Pressure Test= 1 hour labor
5- Computer scan for codes, found air to fuel ratio problems= 1 hour labor
6- Test fuel in tank, send out for testing.=2 hours labor
7- Extract rusted ignition coil bolts= 2 hours labor
Being all this said, I was very fare with my prices. we have removed bad gas from tank with a special tool (if it was removed without this tool that not all shops have it would cost customer more to do this work without the special tool).
