EC-Councils website states if you choose to attend an officially authorized corresponding hacking training course, you will be able to take the exam online at the end of the course. All other exams are delivered through Prometric and VUE testing centers. ******* exam consists of 150 questions and the passing score is 70%" (EC-COUNCIL, 2023).I have passed the exam two times and still have failed under their " each test is different" statement with no specifics of what that score is or why foreign material from the book is injected to all their exams.I recommend SANS training and GIAC certs over all cybersecurity ec council products.Students beware.

The Certification passing criteria mentioned in this complaint is not accurate, the official passing criteria can be found on our official certification site: *************************************** As an **** ***** certified body, our exam process including our Cut Score, psychometric analysis process, and exam form review process have all been independently certified by ****. While we understand a variable cut score can be unclear to some, it is independently certified and fair to all. Our official Accredited explanation is available here: ***************************************/certified-ethical-hacker.html Passing Criteria:In order to maintain the high integrity of our certifications exams, EC-Council Exams are provided in multiple forms (I.e. different question banks). Each form is carefully analyzed through beta testing with an appropriate sample group under the purview of a committee of subject matter experts that ensure that each of our exams not only have academic rigor but also have "real world" applicability. We also have a process to determine the difficulty rating of each question . The individual rating then contributes to an overall "Cut Score" for each exam form. To ensure each form has equal assessment standards, cut scores are set on a "per exam form" basis. Depending on which exam form is challenged, cut scores can range from 60% to 85%. To further clarify, Exam form Cut Scores are set by the aggregate difficulty level of each question after those questions have gone through Beta testing for months, with hundreds of candidates. If after hundreds of test takers have submitted answers and, for example 70% of them were correct, the cut score for that single item is set to 70. Each question is evaluated at that level, not only before it makes it onto an exam, but they are also subject to continuous monitoring and validation by independent psychometricians. Each question must maintain the same performance levels in their live testing state in order to remain in the live exam form. There are multiple exam forms with rotating questions to ensure exam integrity is maintained. If for instance a single cut score was maintained across multiple forms of exams, it would not be a fair process as the difficulty measure would not coincide with the actually difficulty of the exam. As an additional measure to ensure impartiality and fairness, Each certification we provide also has an external ************** to provide independent review and decision on our exam items, as well as the exam appeal process. If any candidate feels their test results were affected for any reason, they are welcomed to appeal the results, details are published here: ***************************************/appeal-procedure.html as well as a full explanation of the independence of the committee who reviews and decides on the appeal outcome. As stated on the **** website linked above, this process as well as all of the policies that surround it are fully accredited by **** and have proven at scale, to be a fair and regulated approach to delivering fair and accurate examinations resulting in either the conference of certification, or the failure of the candidate. We do not take our examination or certification process lightly and welcome all candidates who feel their examination results are inaccurate, unfair, or unclear to file an appeal. From ANAB's website(***********************************************************):The Value of ISO/IEC ***** Accreditation The **** symbol signals to an employer that the credential holder has undergone a valid, fair, and reliable assessment to verify that they have the necessary competencies to practice.**** accreditation provides an added layer of legal defensibility against invalid claims. Many government agencies, such as the **** ********** of Defense, ********** of ******* Federal and State OSHA, and the **** rely on **** accreditation as it assures the competency of the certification program. The accountability and transparency built into the **** process support conformity assessment attestations, and can result in reduced liability insurance.

A cash-grabbing organization that does nothing but check HR boxes. Please spend your time with certifications put out by other companies.

The requirement for credential holders to maintain their credentials through qualifying events is not unique to ***Council. Most professionals including those for accountants, doctors, and even IT require maintenance in some form. You came to us to purchase the exam for the ***Council CND (Network Defense). However, you were advised that your account is not currently in good standing, so we arent able to waive your application fee. Your ***Council CEH (Ethical Hacking) credential requires maintenance in the form of various qualifying events as well as a yearly fee. The credential was not maintained and therefore lapsed. You recently passed the exam for our **** (Computer Forensics) certification, and the ***Council Training Consultant you spoke to let you know that the **** achievement will get your maintenance for CEH up to date and once you pay your outstanding maintenance fees, your account and all certs will be in good standing. ***Council certification holders in good standing dont have to pay the application fee for additional exams. All the requirements to maintain an ***Council certification were provided to you at the time of your certification and that information is also published at https://cert.eccouncil.org/.The Training Consultant you spoke to is standing by and happy to help you through the process or to answer any other questions you may have.
