My car was towed illegally after a accident. They towed it after I called aaa turns out they don't work with them. They do not follow the state wrecker tarref, they are overcharging and charging fees that do not exist on the tarref (ie, a MVD fee). What they are doing is illegal and my car is stuck in the tow yard because they are asking 1500 for fees non-existent on the tarref which is illegal and now are trying to sell my car at auction. Also no invoice or itemized receipts to tell me what I'm paying before and after payment

      Business response

      08/25/2023

On 6/23/2023, We were called out by the Albuquerque Police Department on an accident call to tow vehicle involved in an accident, We towed the vehicle to our facility per PD request.
We are charging the owner according to the state tariff, for towing, mileage, storage, admin fee and any charges regarding veh records and postage for certified letters sent. The owner showed up to retrieve the vehicle and did not want to pay for these charges, which are all itemized in the invoice I am attaching. I am also attaching the fees we paid to get vehicle records.

Owner has been in contact with us and would get charges each time he called, owner showed up 7/19 demanding his car, but he did not want to pay the charges owed. He stated he only wanted to pay $300.00 or if not he would complain to whomever he had to. Owner's uncle also called and was given charges, both of them were  adamant, and they were not paying for charges that were owed.
Keep in mind his car was towed on 6/23/2023 they wanted to pay $300 after almost a month of the vehicle being towed and stored. Owner of the vehicle was not being reasonable and he has had ample amount of time to pick up his vehicle but has decided not to and complaint instead.

Please let me know if there is anything else needed to resolve this matter and please let me know when resolved.
