On June 28th, 2023, I went to Valvoline around 11am. I asked for a standard oil change. At the end of this appointment the young man who said he went to high school with me, told me he put in premium oil instead of the standard oil I asked for, charging me $53.77 (standard price). The sticker he put on my windshield states 68000 is when I need to come back for another oil change. A few weeks later on July 9th at 7pm I was driving home on 528 when my car started jerking very badly and the oil and engine light came on. I immediately pulled over into a parking lot knowing I cannot drive any further. I called my mechanic the following morning to get a tow truck to pick up my vehicle. The following day my mechanic called me to inform me that they had put way too much oil in my car, which caused my engine to be destroyed. I called Valvoline right away to set up a claim, and the man I spoke to was very kind, but did not seem surprised that this was happening. Valvoline ended up towing my car to their shop to do their diagnostic, which resulted in them saying the damage done to my vehicle was not their fault. They discovered my timing belt had been broken, but my vehicle only has 60,000 miles and my mechanic informed me that those don't just break on a new vehicle like that. After about a week of fighting with them over this, they ended up asking my mechanic for an estimate on how much it would be to fix my car. She emailed the estimate which ended up being $1924.32. They denied taking any responsibility done to my car. The management has been extremely rude and unprofessional. I am moving into my apartment next week and now I might not be able to because they are refusing to take responsibility for this. I have always taken great care of my car, doing the right thing and going to a "Professional" and end up losing my car because of it. Below I have attached the estimate and all the records of phone calls between my mechanic and Valvoline.
