Phone number keeps calling me, I finally called number back, it was this company, I selected #3 to have my number removed, some guy answered with hello, I asked to be removed from the calling list, and he just went radio silence, he did not hang up, but even after saying hello, are you there several times I got nothing, but I could hear him breathing on the other end. This company is ridiculous and must not want their money too bad considering they can't even leave a message of what they are calling about.Business response

Hi ****** -
First National Collection Bureau, Inc. has received your complaint and have reviewed the file.
All call recordings begin recording when an agent picks up the line and begins to speak. I do see an inbound call, but the system flagged the call as a hang up - there is no call recording due to an agent not picking up. When the option to remove the phone number is utilized the system does not direct to a live person. I apologize and wish that I can say what happened here.
I have placed your phone number on the "do not call / do not text" table and you will not receive any additional calls from our office.

Hi ****** -
First National Collection Bureau, Inc. has received your complaint. After review of the account, I am not finding any dial records for the phone number you provided in your complaint. I'm also not seeing any calls to any number on this account. I do see that we sent you emails to the email address you provided in your complaint.
Our office hours are 6am - 4pm PST, therefore any calls that would come out of our office to you would be done in that time frame. We also would not call you more than once a day.
If you continue to receive calls from unknown numbers, you may want to research to ensure that it's not another company.
I have added your phone number to the "do not call / do not text" database for an indefinite period of time.
Respectfully,
First National Collections Bureau, Inc.

The email address came over with the file. That sometimes happens and when the email is not good, removing the email from the account is the resolution.
Due to it not being your account, the email address was removed.

I was contacted today by this business claiming I owe a debt and asking for my address and date of birth for verification. When I told them to mail what they had to the address on file, that I am not comfortable giving that information, the debt collector began telling me my address and date of birth. I did not confirm who I was, and this company gave my address and date of birth., on a recorded line.Business response

Dear Consumer,
First National Collection Bureau, Inc. has received your complaint.
The agents are trained to request information initially to verify that they have the correct person. If the consumer on the line does not want to provide the information, the agent can then provide the information to that consumer. This is not against the law and must be done prior to speaking with anyone about any account.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to call ************ or email us at **************************************.

Complaint: 21500175
I am rejecting this response because:This bill collector gave my ENTIRE home address to me, my full name, and my date of birth without verifying that it was me. This is NOT a legal practice, the consumer must provide the information to the debt collector for verification. In this case, the collector was so unprofessional, I said I would not like to speak to them, and asked them to mail the information to the address they have on file. He then rattled off all of my personal information, not knowing who he was speaking to. That is not legal in **********.
Sincerely,

What I would like to see happen is this collection agency conduct business in a more professional manner and follow laws. This is one of many complaints online I read about this company. The are unprofessional and instead of mailing the validity of the debt to the address on file, as I requested, they aggressively rattled off all of my personal information, not knowing who they were speaking to. People should not have access to the person information of others if they are not abiding with the laws that collection agencies must follow. I have spoken to a lawyer about this, and what occurred was not legal.Business response
04/15/2024
Dear Consumer,
First National Collection Bureau, Inc. received your additional concerns.
As it is not illegal for the agent to provide information for a consumer to verify on an outgoing call, we have discussed with the agent to honor the request of merely sending a letter to the address on record.
Thank you for your additional response and communicating your concern.

Complaint: 21500175
I am rejecting this response because:If you reviewed the conversation then you surely heard the agent give my address and birth date without me ever confirming who they were speaking with. I did in fact ask for validation of this debt, as I was not comfortable with his aggressive demeanor from the beginning. It is NEVER legal to give personal information without confirmation of who they are speaking with. I suggest you review the laws in the states you are doing collections, because this could end badly if these practices continue.
Sincerely,
