October 2021 I hired them to put a front porch roof on a house at *** ****** road * ******* ******* ny. I was told the task would take all day as was a big job. It ended up being a lot less time to do the job and was not the higher price I was told on the phone. Upon finding it was done I asked why the roof was not connected to the ceiling of porch roof. Was told it was cosmetic. Hired a company to get rid of squirrels. Upon their work they discovered squirrels nesting between the roof they put on and the ceiling of porch roof. I have pictures to support this. Also shows nails going through just what they added. I would like them to fix this as this is not satisfactory. I got in contact several times and have not received calls back. It has been months. Last time I called was told the person was out of town and would call me. Never called. If they had to remove slats from porch ceiling roof that would have been fine. Now there is a space in between where the roof and ceiling don’t connect. I thought the job would take all day as I was told because if the size of the job. Not sure why it took half the time and half the cost. I want the job finished and corrected so the porch ceiling is attached to the roof. Time is if the essence as the snow will be getting into the spaces. I’m not willing to pay anything more. On 10/7/21 I received an estimate from Dave L****** to fix my leaking roof. I discussed with Dave that I would like it done before the snow begins to fall. Dave ensured me he would take care of it and do it right so I would not have to worry about it. The anticipated time frame to complete the job was 2-3 weeks. 3 weeks had elapsed and the job was not completed yet. I called several times and was ensured they would be over soon to complete it. The job was not started until 12/15/21. When the crew arrived, they explained to my wife (who was home at the time), that they were going to try to beat the rain. My wife wrote them a check for $2,160.00, which was the amount on the estimate- however the work described in the estimate was not completed. The check was cashed soon after. I called Sunset right away and told them that multiple things were not done and they told me they would be back to take care of it. To this day, they have not shown up to complete the job. I have called countless times, been told they’d show up and never did experienced unreturned calls and text messages. The roof still intermittently leaks, ice and water barrier was never installed, the shingles (in the area described) were not removed to asses where water was coming in, the ridge vent and caps were not replaced- all of which was described in estimate. No one has returned to even put a tarp on the roof. I would like a full refund due to the untimely manner of the work being started, the frustration of the entire experience, the original issue not being fixed, and payment for work/materials not done. I was ensured it would be completed but unfortunately went the entire winter with the job left unfinished and insulation pulled back.Customer response
