He knowingly sold me lumber of an incorrect size and type. When this was pointed out I said I would take the lumber but because of the size he overcharged me based on our agreed upon and advertised price of 80 cents a board foot. He refused to keep the agreed price or take the lumber back when it happened. He told me too bad he was keeping the money and threatened me. Do business with him at your own risk he is a thief and conman at best. Q

      Business response

      05/30/2023

May 26,2023Better Business Bureau,I'm writing in response to a complaint I received via mail from *** ****. ***claims I knowingly sold him lumber of an incorrect size and type. This is simply untrue. Rough cut lumber, just like lumber purchased from a hardware store is not actually sawed to the length size advertised. For example, at ****'s when a person buys a 2 by 4 they are actually buying a 1 112 by 3 112 inch board. The lumber sold to Mr. **** was actually 1 518 by 3 518 which allows for the lumber to be plained if needed.Mr. **** arrived and inspected the lumber, paid the amount owed (My wife counted the money and discovered Mr. **** had over paid by $20.00 which was returned to him), assisted in loading the lumber on his trailer and strapping it down. Mr. **** never once stated he was unhappy with the lumber. He left the premises in a normal manner.Approximately 30 minutes later, Mr. **** called and texted stating he was unhappy and wanted a partial refund on his purchase because he wanted actual2 by 4's. It was explained to Mr. **** that it is not typically how lumber is sawed and would only be sawed true to size if specifically requested. It was not requested by Mr. ****.Mr. **** arrived back on the property and started demanding $1 80.00 dollars be returned to him. Mr. **** began becoming belligerent and yelling. My wife came out and observed Mr. **** yelling and eventually asked him to stop yelling. He complied and got back in the truck, slammed the door then put his window down and apologized for yelling. He changed the amount he wanted back to $1 20.00 dollars. He eventually escalated again and made threats about coming back before tearing out of the driveway, spinning wheels and throwing stones which hit my truck. The entire event was captured on Arlo cameras. For the remainder of the day, Mr. **** sent many, many text messages often with curse words and threats. Inclosed are printed screenshots of just a few of the text messages Mr. **** sent.I offered to give Mr. **** all of his money back if all the lumber was unloaded from his trailer while he was here during the yelling episode. He refused and wanted to take the lumber. Later in the day while Mr. **** was sending me text after text, I offered to give him a full refund if he wanted to bring the lumber back. He refused again. In one of the messages, Mr. **** even stated how nice the lumber was. The entire order was hemlock like requested and at no time in the two visits Mr. **** made to my property or via text message or phone did I or my wife ever threaten him.Dan G******
