      Let me tell you about the embarrassment of a salon that I booked for my wedding, Color Karma, who single handedly tried to ruin my wedding day. This salon robbed me of my rehearsal & rehearsal dinner and memories I will never get to make now! The owner is one of the most cold hearted people I have ever had to encounter in my entire life. My entire wedding weekend was at our hotel so we needed vendors to come on site, it was a MUST. I had 14 girls needing hair done including myself. Fast forward to my rehearsal on Friday 10/14/22, the night before my wedding- I texted all of the vendors my room # so they would know where to go in the morning. Mid rehearsal I picked up my phone and saw a text from the owner of the salon saying, "We don't travel". My heart sinks to the pit of my stomach & I leave mid rehearsal to go call her thinking there has to be some sort of mistake. Nope, the salon I booked in May that should be coming in a little more than 12 hours & spent money at for 2 hair trials before my wedding is not coming & now every other salon is closed. I instantly start crying and begging/pleading with the owner, but she said they don't travel & would not make an exception. She offered for us to come to the salon but that was impossible with our timeline. After the owner was unwilling to budge & I had cried off all my makeup, my amazing Matron of Honor took over the call to try to reason with her & get this worked out. The owner was just as impossible/unwilling to help with her as she was with me, she had every excuse under the sun why they couldn’t come. After about 2 ½ hours on the phone with the owner & her now ruining what was left of my rehearsal & dinner, she finally then agrees to still come, BUT FOR $500 MORE! After one last ditch effort pleading with her to come for what we agreed upon for, she replied back to me saying “I don’t like how you are making ME feel” and ended up hanging up the phone on me! Of course she refused to give me back my deposit too!

      It is unfortunate Cynthia thinks that Color Karma deliberately was targeted. We do not travel. The words “we will shut down to accommodate your wedding party” meant no other appointments would be scheduled that day. We were told the original stylist/salon decided to cancel your wedding party. Here it’s said COVID was the reason. Additional our staff spent hours trying to rectify the misunderstanding, and decided equally that there would be a travel fee. Each one of the stylists had to travel at least an hour further not to mention the amount of time added to pack needed supplies. We agreed on a reasonable $30 added travel fee per person. Unfortunately during the few hours of trying to rectify this situation Cynthia choose to threaten me. The next conversation was with her Maid Of Honor. She informed us that she thought we would be vindictive and “take it out” on our work, so you decided to cancel. For large parties, we charge $500 as a deposit. This is non transferable, non refundable. This is a charge to insure we get paid for our time in case someone decides not to get their hair done. This was explained and agreed to. Ultimately we would have really liked to come to a resolution as we were looking forward to help making this day special, and regret that she decided to cancel instead of allowing us to accommodate her request once we understood what she was looking for. We did indeed close our business and did not schedule any appointments for this day. When this cancellation happened on our stylists after we agreed to travel to you last minute we lost out on both this party and the clients we would have normally served.
