11/20/23 traded a car on a Jeep. I have not received a title or registration and the owner told me (***********************) that he could not get a title. He offered to purchase/refund me the price of me vehicle/trade/fees. He has sent me 3 checks which have either bounced or he has put a stop payment on. He has also promised wires from his bank and none of them have happened. He has 20+ complaints with the police about the same shady business as I am experiencing and has been arrested in May for the same scam. I was pulled over for driving a car that does not match my plates and was treat like I was in a stolen car. I want my money back. I have a vehicle that is not usable

Dealership was to register vehicle after being purchased with full payment, title of the vehicle to be mailed; months of excuses for these steps not being completed by salesmen ***** then *****. Vehicle has not been registered, dealership refuses to hand over title; title supposedly mailed via ***** 3 times and each time sender requested items be returned to sender before delivery was completed. June 21, 2024 went to dealership, issue not resolved and filed complaint.

On July 30, 2022 I purchased a car from Route 59 Motors LLC. It was a 2015 VW Golf TDI and I paid $13,000 in cash and took out a loan for the remaining ~ $8,000. I had to bring the car back multiple times for work to be done or for issues regarding warning lights and oil. Finally, I asked if I could return the car within the three-month warranty period because I was unhappy with the purchase. The dealer said that was okay. Then, they issued me a personal check with a refund of the cash I paid, plus the one payment I made on the loan for a total of $13,500 on October 17. I cashed it and it bounced. I was angry and they sent me a second check a couple weeks later that also bounced. Finally, they sent me a third check in early December and that also bounced. Now they keep telling me every week that they are waiting for checks to clear and promising to give me money and I have yet to receive anything. They keep stringing me along. To make matters worse, they sent two checks to the credit union, Mid ****** ******************** that also bounced. I was under the impression until the date I am writing this complaint, Dec. 20, that they had been paid off. I only learned it was not paid when loss mitigation reached out to me telling me they were dealing with the same problem as me. Now my credit score is in jeopardy and I am even more appalled and frustrated.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that although the situation is partially resolved, I have not been made whole as the business claims.

I have finally received a refund for the car I returned -- three months later -- and I am completely dissatisfied with this business's response to my complaint. I complained to them for three months before I had to finally hire a lawyer to get my money back. They shouldn't have ever mailed me three personal checks, knowing they would be returned by my bank. They also should have never mailed two personal checks to the credit union where I financed a loan, also knowing they would be returned. That is dishonest, especially since they promised multiple times to both me and the credit union that they would send certified bank checks.

Unfortunately for me, this situation is still not resolved. I still have a problem with my credit. This business has yet to send a letter to the credit union claiming responsibility for missed payments that have affected my credit after the car was returned. I am still waiting for them to send this letter, so I HAVE NOT BEEN MADE WHOLE.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I made a mistake when responding to the business's response to my complaint to BBB. I clicked that I am accepting their response without realizing that meant my complaint would be closed.

Rt. 59 Motors finally refunded me for the car I returned after three months, but they have failed to send a letter to the credit union claiming responsibility for missed payments on the account that affected my credit score after I returned the car.

I must reiterate that this complaint is NOT resolved and I need the business to claim responsibility for the late payments so that my credit score is not penalized for their mistake. They claim I have been "made whole" but that is simply not true.

Please reopen this complaint, and if possible, I will change my response to the business stating that I reject their response.

Thank you very much for your help,

I really dont understand how you want me to respond to this. The customer upon leaving with this this vehicle went started to complain about every small detail. It was a used vehicle, and even though we dont buy vehicle back, we made an exception for her because we realized we cannot begin to make her happy. For example when going over sleeper lines on the road, meant to wake ppl up when falling asleep while driving, she stated that her car would vibrate vigorously, and swore something was wrong with her car. We tried to explain to her that this happens to call cars when you go over those lines, and her she stated that it would not happen to her "jeep Wrangler". So, i decided to repurchase her car back. Indeed, she is correct, during that time my bank account was hacked and i did bounce checks to her, but she was then paid in full to her attorney in full, plus attorneys fees, plus the balance she was owned to the bank. Mid hudson Valley FCU asked us for a letter to repair her credit, which we did, and they repaired any lates on her credit report as well. She has been made whole, and we have addressed all issues pertaining to this matter. The car is no longer in her name, she has been paid everything asked, and the only person that has lost out in this matter is us.
