A form Dated 09/05/2023 was received by me approximately 09/18/2023 from PwC **************** requesting I return the original form, signed by me, prior to 09/30, 2023. The form was returned 09/19/2023 by US mail requesting a check for $314.17 be re-issued to me by ************* Communications. Despite numerous calls to the contact number for PwC *************) plus calls to 3 additional telephone numbers for them in *****, ** (all *** area code ***-***** ********* ***-****). I have only been able to leave a message, which the first number forces you to do after being on hold after approximately 17 minutes. Other employees answering various numbers confided that others seldom get through to the original number shown on the form. Not one call has ever been returned to me, beginning in January, ****., as evidenced by no voicemail messages. Today I spoke with the ************************* of the ***** Controller for the *******************. The ***************************** verified the sum had not as of today 01/24/**** been escheated to the state and advised me to complain to the BBB, since there was nothing she could do. I sent an email to Price Waterhouse Coopers and I am concurrently filing this complaint. It is not in the spirit of the law that PwC makes it virtually impossible to contact them while making a sham of pretending to fulfill this legal obligation on behalf of their client.

PwC provides a service on behalf of American Modern related to potential unclaimed property and trying to reunite the owners with any potential funds owed to them. PwC is never in possession of funds owed to any owner. The funds are always maintained by American Modern and it is their responsibility to issue payment of those funds when deemed appropriate. PwC timely provided the reissue request to American Modern and after several attempts by American Modern to get the funds to the owner, it is our understanding that the funds were successfully delivered via ***** on January 10, 2023 at 9:20 am.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I'm rejecting the response from the business because they don't want to take any accountability and I want to take any responsibility at all yet it had to come through them so irregardless if it was American modern that was issuing or whether they were holding or whether they were signing the check will you still acted as a third party whether you were holding the check or not you were the only place I was directed to to go through American modern had nothing to do with it anymore they said it's not up to me and my father to figure out who we're supposed to complain against we have too many things we're trying to deal with as a family and for us to sit here and have to go through this is ridiculous four 4 different occasions and different checks never received I would have been okay with at least having proof that there was even a check that existed but when I requested copies of it or some type of tracking or tracing and nothing could ever be produced or even followed up no one ever contacted us I could see human error and human mistakes but come on four different times it had to go through three different post office out here where we're located because we signed up for informed delivery that means four separate places check it when it comes to the postal mail which is what we were told it came through except for this last time they told us it was sent twice ***** then why not send us a picture and proof if it was ***** I'm rejecting this simply based on the fact that they don't want to to even bother with a simple I'm sorry sometimes that's all it takes but when you want to sit there and place blame everywhere else that in itself to me is worse than the entire situation when you have someone like myself who's submitting complaints and trying to resolve matters and I'm blind and can't even get it help doing that and then my father who's a palliative patient who's on his end of life stage and no one even replied to help us get the assistance we need is ************* part about all this though I know nothing's going to get done about it I know that I'm not going to honor my request and I know that they're not going to resolve it the way that I had requested so basically this will be an addition to the other complaints that I have filed and nothing will be done
