BEWARE!!!!!!! I would strongly advise not joining any of NYSC clubs. While I was happy to join as a member, they charged my card, wrongfully, for thousands of dollars of Personal Training that I did not discover for months. I tried to resolve this with them directly, as I did not sign up for Personal Training beyond my initial 3 months. They dragged on my inquiry for more than 5 months, stopped communicating after the initial month, and never refunded any of the money. They charged me over $2,000 and I received nothing. Not only am I disappointed, I am blown away that a business would treat a customer like this.Review from Alexander N

NYSC failed to honor my contract when they reopened after *****. I reached out to several people but no one could help or was willing to help. Everyone kept saying I was no longer a member. Their excuses were ridiculous.Since that time they offered a "NEW' contract stating the rate would be locked in. Now two years later I am seeing a $10 increase while other members received a $5 increase.BBB complaint here. Next, complaint at the ************************* Then a complaint in Civil court And finally a law suit.To date NO ONE at this organization will return my call about the $10 increase.More to come.Review from John Paul V

Housekeeping is not to par. There is mold on the ceiling inside/outside their pool area as well as in their steam room and showers. The sauna wood planks and rotted and fully discolored to a dark black/brown shade. There are flying nats all over shower rooms probably from the rotted smell. I received a nasty phone call from the general manager *********************** saying that if I am not happy with their conditions to take my business somewhere else and they have more important things to take care. Also, stated I would receive a full refund because they don't my business and that there is nothing I can do about it. This is the Westchester County, ************ locations. I wish I could attach photos to show people how a multi-million dollar company maintains its locations.Review from Beverley A

I have been a member of the NYSC for the past two years. I and very disappointed with that there is no recognition for veterans on Veterans Day. I have noticed that the hours in the gym are adjusted for all the other holidays and there are posted signs indicating late opening or closure in recognition of the said holidays. However, on Veterans Day it was just business as usual. Everyone went about their day as though we were of no importance. I am sure that by now it should be apparent that it was because of the sacrifice that veterans has made and is still making why the NYSC can operate in a free society. I have been trying to reach out to the cooperate office to voice my complaint as of last year with no success but with Veterans Day coming up soon I do hope that we will see a positive change in way which the day and veterans are acknowledged. The first time they told me that I could only have access to one towel if caught me off guard. I use the gym primarily for the sauna and with one towel I have the option of going in without one (unsanitary) or using the same towel from the sauna after a shower (unsanitary). The second time it happened I asked why this was still happening and they told me that they were waiting on a shipment. I thought it was a ludicrous policy that supported a gross, unsanitary environment but I decided to keep cool. This past week when I went I was told the same thing. Keep in mind the first instance was about a month ago. Its DISGUSTING to ask your paying customers (both my wife and I are members here) to use the same towels to shower as we use in the sauna. Blaming it on a shipment is not a valid reason either when it comes to running a clean gym, and the duration of the excuse makes things worse as this has been over a month now. I want access to what I pay for so that I can have a healthy sanitary gym experience, no more run around.Review from Irina V

So apparently if a woman janitor is cleaning the men's locker room, we can't enter. So we have to wait 15 minutes for her to finish cleaning. So there's literally a line of 9 dudes waiting to enter the locker room (all upset and irate about the situation) so l enter the locker because there's no contract that say anything about me having to wait to enter a locker room especially when I pay good money to workout. I'm on a schedule just like everyone else. I told the manager they need to hire a male janitor to avoid this situations. Now the staff member lied and said I yelled at him ?????????. How are you going to say "don't enter the Men's locker room" when there's already a man in there. ******* liars!!! Now everyone is talking about this like it's a big deal when it's not. NYSC Rego Park get your **** together!!!Review from Robert A

Nobody cares! Staff turnover is ridiculous. No one wants to work there. The manager, when there is one, hides in their office. TVs often dont work so you start on a machine and go to another and another. Channel 2 is not in their package, as are many others. An awful place!Review from Jen V

To whom it may concern, my family and I have been lifelong members of NYSC for upwards of 30 plus years. Since the **********, ******** location has closed, my husband and I are no longer members due toproximity not being convenient for our schedules. However, both of our college age sons continued to be members there. My younger son has a student rate of $25 a month, and I just pausedhis membership due to a current health issue. My older son was using that membership for the time being, since the club refuses to re-offer the same student price of $25 which he had this rate as well prior to 2 knee surgeries and was supposed to be locked in to that rate as well.Somehow, that membership was cancelled ** NYSC without any notification. I am now being told that the best rate available is $34.99 per month to reinstate his membership. It is unfortunate that you have employees who have no customer service etiquette.***************** located in the *********, ** location has bullied my kids on numerous occasions (specifically about the size of my youngest), speaks to customers with derogatory comments and follows teenagers around the gym inappropriately. His beahavior is unacceptable.I would appreciate a member of NYSCs Corporate teamto call me asap regarding multiple issues that have manifested over time with this employee. My patience has worn thin with this employees behavior andit is utterly disgusting that NYSC allows him to represent their brand.Review from Brenna I

This club is terrible. No one on the team has any idea what is going on and their business practice is sketchy to put it nicely. The management is awful and will bait and will bait and switch you with promotions. Overall, bad, do not give them your money.
