Zipjob does have a no return policy, but they are deceptive in their practices. The only reason I paid for their services was based on a timeline of delivery of the resume that was given to me. I had a job interview which coincided, so it was critical they do the work within their own timeline. They proceeded to not be in touch for many days and when gotten in touch did not seem to have started any process, including that I did not have a writer yet. I called and was told I would be given a refund. Then there was stalling and random calling to me while I was at work , then an email that I would not get my almost $900 returned. At this point, no work had been done at all for my resume, so they had not done anything for me, and clearly I missed the deadline to submit my resume. They promise services within a certain time and the webpage makes it look incredibly professional, but the customer service and not fulfilling the services within the time promised, THEN keeping the money for no work done, is very poor practice and they do not stand behind their work. I purchased their resume services. I was paired with a writer and was told that he would reach out to me. The only response I got from them was on their portal and it did not go to my email. I had to check into their portal to see the progress of my documents. Once matched I told the writer I had additional documents that I could provide to help out. He took my resume and basically just changed the format. I know that one of the issues I had was that my resume had been using the military term for the position I held. Once he said he was done I questioned him about that and he said that he fixed it. No changes were made. I basically paid for someone to change my format and not write a new resume. This was not what was offered and there was zero coloration with the writer.Business response

I know this complaint has been closed but I wanted to update you on what has happened. They assigned a new writer to look at the resume again and she restyled it again and did not really do much to change anything. When I brought that up she tried to say that it was good but over a few emails she finally admitted that it was horrible and that she really did not put much effort into it. I got an updated resume and I thought it was somewhat better. I did email them back asking about having more data in the resume and they said that it was great the way it was. It has now been almost three weeks and applying with that resume and still no jobs or interviews. I finally reached out to a friend that is in HR and he told me the big thing I need was more data in my resume. So again I am going to have to have someone else work on my resume white I have already lost out on jobs.

Clearly I should have visited this page before hiring this company. It's clearly a joke. Signed up for basic service and received a first draft of what was supposed to be a professionally written resume. My toddler could have compiled something better. First, they make you complete a detailed form with information on accomplishments, desires etc. It was obvious no one looked at that form before writing anything. The resume itself was filled with redundancy, poorly formatted, and used terms and phrases that would never be found in the industry. A resume was provided to them to start, and they couldn't even get the jobs correct-- they didn't put the correct jobs! Complete waste of time and money. The site says no refunds, but they did not provide what was paid for, so I will still dispute with credit card company. You're supposed to get what you paid for and this site is misleading consumers into believing they will get a specific service that is not provided. I still can't believe how many times the "writer" repeated the same information over and over. Anyone in my profession reading it would never hire me and the jargon used made it clear that the "writer" had no experience in this.Business response

I purchased the resume launch service. The company touts having an industry expert write the resume and give my *** optimization. The *** optimization results did not improve and when I called them out about it, they told me it has nothing to do with what is actually in the resume. So they lie from the very beginning about improving the *** optimization because it doesnt do anything based on a few word changes. Then the writer had no idea what was meaningful within my resume, I had to fix it for him and fix grammar mistakes he made as well. This service is the WORST.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. They lied about the results I would receive to get my service. Although I would prefer a full refund, they did not offer that and I dont feel like continuing the fight. They need to be held responsible for the lies they tell between better ATS scan results and having an "expert" in the field I work in to assist on my resume edits. It was clear from the beginning the reviewer knew nothing about my line of work.

I purchased a resume service on May 3, 2023 for $189. A few days later I received a "draft" of a resume that was worse than what I submitted. It wasn't professional and I wanted a refund and to go no further. I emailed 5 emails to the company requesting a refund and no response. I called and they took my info and never said I'd get a refund. A get an email which says they'll have someone else work on my resume. No....that's not acceptable. I want a refund. I haven't heard anything since then.Business response

On March 18th I placed an order with ZipJob for resume and a cover letter and it was for a specefic job. On the website it said if I don't get the job in 60 days, I will get a refund. I did not get the job with that resume anywhere. Not just that job, but I got no calls from anywhere else with that resume. I spent ****** CAD on this order. I tried to email them twice and got no response. Also tried to call them and it was not connecting. I have attached the rejection letter from the company reference.Business response

Paid an initial $189.00 on 4/15 for a resume rewrite & then $75.00 on 4/18 for a 48 hour turn around. Both were cashed. I have had 0 contact with this company despite many emails. I do not want a credit, for a future service, I want my money back. If needed I will provide copies of the debits from my accounts.Business response

Purchased a professional resume package backed by satisfaction guarantee. Received the resume and it is absolutely terrible. I am a hiring manager and would never hire someone based on the unprofessional terrible paper provided. I reached out for a refund and was denied. The company is a SCAM!! Computer generated junk. I paid $189 plus $75 for fast track which still took way too long for the cost. My resume was turned into unusable junk. I want a full refund.Business response

On 11/21/22, I spent $189 on the "Fast Track Resume Writing Package," which included a professional resume optimized for ATS, a cover letter, and a 60-day interview guarantee. I completed a questionnaire about my experience and gave a version of my current resume for the writer to work from. On 11/29/22, I received the first draft of the new resume and cover letter. These documents not only included grammar and formatting errors, they also included blatant lies about my experience. I responded to the company and requested a refund, as it was clear to me that Zipjob was a scam. They refused, and instead sent me a new writer who started over. I received the second round of documents on 12/07/22. These documents did not include lies, which was an improvement from the first round. However, the fonts and format used in the resume were not optimized for ATS. After 60 days, 02/07/23, I still had not received an interview with these "improved" documents. I requested a refund, and was again told that I could only get a new writer. At this point, I do not believe that anyone at Zipjob is qualified to be writing resumes. I would like my money back, as the services promised were not completed and the writers are unable to fulfill their promise.Business response

This company ripped me off! The quality of my resume was horrendous, a child could have wrote the resume better. I had addressed my concerns to customer support through many emails, and they continued to disregard my complaints and refused to refund me. I feel that I was robbed. How a company can disregard their "customers" for such horrible service is appalling! I will continue to fight for my refund. BBB, shut them DOWN!Business response
