I have a 2018 Honda atv purchased new with an extended warranty from Honda of riverhead. I brought the vehicle in for a transmission issue in April of 22. They informed me it needed a clutch and it was not covered under warranty. I allowed them to perform the repair for which took them almost 2 months. I paid them ******** on May 28. I picked up the vehicle which is a off-road vehicle that I towed out of state to ride it. It only made it 2 miles before the same issue occurred and I had to get it towed. I returned the vehicle to them for repair again. They had it again for about 2 months where they informed me the clutch repair that I paid for originally was never actually bad and that I needed a new part which was covered under warranty. They repaired it for no charge because it was under warranty. I again towed the vehicle out of state 12 hours away to ride it. After a few miles the exact same issue occurred with the transmission where the vehicle would not move under its own power. At this point I had the vehicle towed back to where I was staying. I then rented a vehicle to replace the broken atv for the trip costing me $814. I am looking to get reimbursed for the original repair and for the rental fee due to their faulty repairs/misdiagnosis. I also want my vehicle repaired properly and returned to me in guaranteed working order before my warranty period is expired.

First In response to *** ********* complaint we are more than willing to refund hes money for the first repair as it obviously did not fix, hes issue.  The first time he brought his machine in we had a hard time diagnosing his problem and spent many hours speaking with Honda about the situation. The end result was that Honda and our Technician believed it was a clutch issue which was not under warranty.  We did not reveal to Honda that the machine was modified to be used in deep water and mud as it was not designed for this and would have voided the warranty. This was done to try to help ********************. He agreed to this repair. He picked it up and brought it back after 4 miles with the same problem. We checked it again with no help from Honda and found an actuator that *** have been bad and decided to replace it.   We informed ******************** we had tested this on our lot, and it seemed to solve the problem. We told him to pick up the machine and test it and let us know if it was fixed. This was covered under warranty, and we informed him of that. He had the machine for a few weeks before his trip and we never heard from him that the problem still existed.   He returned from his trip with 16 miles on the machine and said it had the same issue. He brought his machine back and Honda asked more questions about how it was being used and we had no choice but to tell them it has a radiator relocation kit on it and snorkels that modify it to be run in mud and deep water which it was not designed for there fore the warranty is no void. We now believe the due to being modified and used for a purpose it wasnt made for the deep water and mud *** have damaged something we can not identify. Therefore, we will gladly refund his money for the repair but neither Honda nor Honda of Riverhead can continue to service this machine that was used in adverse conditions.
